(817)441-5770 City Council Meeting Minutes The City Council met in a scheduled meeting on Thursday, November 21, 2024, at 7:00 p.m. in the Annetta Town Hall at 450 Thunder Head Lane to consider the following agenda: I. II. Call to order. Mayor Sandy Roberts called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Pledge of Alegance/Invocation of Prayer. Council Member Shane Mudge led the pledge and Council Member Danny Coffman gave the invocation. III. Roll call/Quorum check. A quorum check revealed that Mayor Roberts and Council Members, Danny Coffman, Shane Mudge, Brandon Thompson, Kent Stasey and. Jim Causey were all present. Also present was Jamee Long, City SecretalyAdminstrator. IV. Public Comments: There were no public comments. V. Consent Items: Reports from City Staff and Commission or Committees: a. Consider the approval of Minutes from the Regular City Council Meeting on October 17, 2024. b. Public Works Report. Financial Report. Council Member Coffman moved to accept the consent items, Council Member Causey seconded the motion, with all aye. Mayor Roberts stated that there were 671 leak notifications in October. Council Member Stasey discussed the operators' October report and the wastewater effluent the Town sends to the golf course. He also discussed the annual expenses that come out of the budget at the beginning of each fiscal year. Motion passed unanimously. VI. New Business: a. Discussion and Action: Consider a proclamation pardoning Gomez the turkey. Mayor Roberts read the proclamation. Council Member Stasey moved to approve the proclamation pardoning Gomez thet turkey, Council Member Coffman seconded the motion, with all aye. Gomez the turkey was present at the meeting and pictures were taken by the local newspaper. Mayor Roberts thanked the Flowers family for bringing Gomez to the meeting. Motion passed unanimously. 1 b. Discussion and Action: Consider amending the Town's Electronic Communications Policy to include a Prohibited1 Technology Policy pursuant to SB1 1893, codified as Chapter 620ofthe Texas Government Code. Ms. Long stated that due to this recent Senate Bill, the Town will add: software to desktops, laptops and cell phones to ban social media from Town owned property. Council Member Stasey moved to approve amending the Town's Electronic Communications Policy to include a Prohibited Technology Policy pursuant to SB 1893, codified as Chapter 620 of the Texas Government Code, Council Member Coffman a. Announce winners of Annetta's Fourth Annual Annetta Halloween Contest. Mayor Roberts announced the winners of the Fourth Annual Halloween Contest as Al Gloer for best house decorations and Kim Wilkerson for best costume. Mayor Roberts thanked everyone for participating in the contest. Announced winner of children's book contest. This month's book, The Giving Tree, was won by the seconded the motion, with all aye. Executive Session: As authorized by Chapter 551 of the Texas Government Code, the City Council reserves the right to adjourn into executive session at any time during the course of this meeting to discuss the a. 5551.071-C Consultation with Attorney. To conduct a private consultation with the City Attorney on any legally posted agenda item, when the City Council seeks the advice of its attorney about pending or contemplated litigation, a settlement offer, or on a matter in which the duty of the attorney to the governmental body under the Texas Disciplinary Rules of Professional Conduct of the State Bar of Texas following: clearly conflicts with the provisions of Chapter 551, to include: 1. Aledo Heights b. $551.074. Deliberation regarding personnel matters. The City Council may convene in executive session to deliberate the appointment, employment, evaluation, reassignment, duties, discipline, or dismissal of a publicofficer or employee including deliberation regarding the following officers or employees: 1. Water/Wastewater Operators Executive session began at 7:16 p.m. and ended at 8:17 p.m. No action was taken. VIII. Items of Community! Interest. Council Member Stasey: stated that the Bearcats are playing footballi tomorrow night. He also discussed the Lady Cats Volleyball playoffs. Mayor Roberts wished everyone a Happy Thanksgiving. Shei thanked Rico Remigio for coordinating Toys for Tots again this year. Council Member Stasey discussed the Lone Star Fireworks show attendance and charities that it benefits. Mayor Roberts discussed the Radiance light show at the Sheriff's Posse grounds in December. Council Member Coffman discussed the ice rink that the City of Aledo is having in December this year. IX.
