Bids: Judge Clark presents a resolution Texas Government Code Chapter 614.051 which authorizes the county to sell or transfer a service firearm to an honorably retired peace officer. Since Sheriff Akin is retiring on Dec. 31, 2024 and will be honorably retired on. Jan. 1, 2025, he has expressed his desire to purchase his Wise Motion made by Burns, seconded by Shawn, and unanimously adopted by the Court to approve the sale and transfer of Sheriff Lane Akin's Glock 17 9mm to him effective upon the first day of retirement on January 1,2025. Diana Allen (verba!) presents a damaged skid steer from Environmental Services to trade in to be able to purchase a new one via a cooperative. Insurance did not total that piece of equipment; however, Water Board agreed to make up the difference to obtain a new. John Deer rather than use the fire damaged one. Auditor Ann McCuiston also stated there was also a refund on Night Vision Grant of Judge Clark (verba!) reports that outside of the normal county procedures, he did not want to restrict the outgoing elected officials (Sheriff Akin and Constable Hoskins) ifthey wanted to use up their budget.
