Joint Public Hearing oft the Town Council and the Planning Commission was held onl November 12, 2024, at 7:00 p.m. in the Tappahannock Municipal Building. Thel hearing was advertised in the Rappahannock Times for two consecutive weeks, October 30, 2024, and thel November 6, 2024,as required by7 Title 15.2-2204 oft the 1950 Code of Virginia, as amended. Thep purpose oft the public hearing ist to considert the following: Anamendment to the' Tappahannocki Zoning Ordinance: Toa amend the Tappahannock. Zoning Ordinance Article XI Supplementary Use Regulations, to add Sec. 22- 147.2 Mural Art and amend. Article) X, Sec. 22-125 to update the permissible uset table toi include mural art. This amendment proposes to establishi the: zoning districts murala arti isp permitted as a matter ofr right, special exception or viaa al Historic Overlay Zoning permit as well as regulations governing mural art. CALLEDTOORDER Mayor Gladding called the. Joint Public Hearing Meeting to order. Chair Carneal calledt the Planning Commission Meeting to order. Mayor Gladding stated the purpose of the hearing to amend the Tappahannock Zoning Ordinance Article XI Supplementary Use Regulations, to add Sec. 22-147.2 Mural Art and amend Article X, Sec. 22-125t to update the permissible use table toi include mural art. MAYOR' TURNED MEETING OVER TOTHE: PLANNING COMMISSION Mayor Gladding turned the meeting over to the Planning Commission. Assistant Town Manager Knighton stated the Planning Commission has been working on this Mural Ordinance document from the direction of the Town Council. He stated the Mural Ordinance document was present tot the Council member last monthi for review, he stated that! he has not received any comments, questions, or clarifications based on the regulations ort the proposed allowable zoning districts. He askedif anyone had any questions, or comments. Mayor Gladding asked for any comments or questions from the public. Joint Public Hearing. There were none. MURALORDIANCE On motion of Dianna Carneal, seconded by Maria Pitts, the Commission moved to recommend to the Tappahannock' Town Council toa amendt the Tappahannock: Zoning Ordinance. Article XI Supplementary Use Regulations, to add Sec. 22-147.2 Mural Art and amend Article X, Sec. 22-125 to update the permissible uset table toi includer mural art as presented.
