STAFF REPORTS: Town Administrator- Town Administrator Sandoval discussed with Council the tree lightening event for it to take place on the first week of December. She also discussed the Centennial kick off and mentioned the mayor will prepare a speech to address the residents and ifthe council would like to address the residence as well to prepare fori it. She also updated Council that the application for the 100-year-old home signs are posted online and she has already received applications. She also requested a tentatively special meeting for November 20th at 5:00 pm to approve and award the water facility bid and the second item the budget amendment. The council was all in consensus. She also would like to add the workshop with Representative of Cassidy Group for council to discuss issues on that same meeting. She updated the Council that the staff has been working with the state to secure funding for the wastewater project and Project SR27 Pump Station is up for re-bid. Town Clerk- Town Clerk Borja updated the Council of the upcoming events and meetings. Florida Legue of Cities committee conference will be on November 8th, 2024, in Orlando. The Ridge League Dinner willl be held in' Winter Haven Thursday, November 14, 2024. Northeast Chamber Luncheon willl be on Thursday, November14, 2024, in Davenport: at their Tom Fellows center. She also updated the Council, due to the Hurricanes the Florida Association of City Clerks Conference was cancelled and refunded both the conference and the hotel. However, the Florida. Association of City Clerks announced the opportunity to participate in classes combined with the IIMC conference; that happens every 5 years in Florida to accommodate the Clerks to earn the points towards their CMC. The dates for the makeup classes and IIMC conference will be January 6th to the 10th. Town Clerk Borja requested the approval to attend both the makeup classes and the IIMC conference in Orlando. TOWN ATTORNEY COMMENTS: The Town Attorney commented that he would like to be present for the planning commission meetings. COUNCILCOMMENI: Mayor Wagner announced the Centennial kick off will be on November 9th this Saturday. She also mentioned there are applications available for residents to apply for their homes ift they can prove the home is 100 years old. The town will provide a sign for them. Mathis commented ift the signs can bej placed for the heavy truck ordinance. Roberson commented on the route for the MLK parade, other cities advertise it on the website and notify residents days prior and recommended for the town to take the same approach.
