Consideration and Approval oft the August gth, 2024, Parks & Recreation Advisory Board Meeting Motion made by Board Secretary Arnold to approve of the 08/8/2024 Parks and Recreation Meeting; seconded by Board Member Pileggi. Motion approved unanimously by voice vote. Yea: Board Chair Husemann, Board Member Pileggi, Board Member Mauro, Board Member Bright, Minutes. Voting Board Secretary Arnold Nay: None OLD BUSINESS 2. Discussion: Parks Assessment Board Member Mauro stated that the cemetery was in good condition. 1Page Board Member Pileggi noted that Griffin Park. appeared well-maintained, although there was some debris present. Board Secretary Arnold stated that the swing set at Central Park looked great. Board Chair Husemann pointed out that Blevins Park had fallen palm fronds but was otherwise in good shape. 3. Discussion: Staff Parks Update Public Works Director Morgan Cates referred to Items 3 and 41 for parks update. 4. Discussion: Sara Maude Mason Nature Preserve Boardwalk Project Update Public Works Director Morgan Cates confirmed that the Sara Maude Boardwalk Project was ahead of schedule. He noted that there was no update on the loan but expected the project to be completed by the Mr. Cates advised that a grand re-opening ceremony for Sara Maude would take place and requested Mr. Cates informed the board that ai newi informational sign for Sara Maude was in development. end ofOctober. ideas and suggestions from the board for the event. 5. Discussion: Pinel Park Update Public Works Director Morgan Cates reported that the construction of the driveway forl Pine Park had been suspended, as the funds were: redirectedi to the Sara Maude boardwalk project. Discussion: Board Assistance with' Town Events Public Works Director Morgan Cates confirmed that the shaded swing set had been installed. Board Chair Husemann stated that further discussions regarding the board's involvement in smaller events would take place near the beginning oft the new year. 8. Discussion: Possible Board Seat Opening Public Works Director Morgan Cates reported that, after speaking with the Town Manager and' Town Attorney, it was. confirmed that Board Secretary Arnold could remain on the board.
