Mayor McLean led the Pledge of Allegiance. 1. CEREMONIAL. Proclamation recognizing Sierra Pacific Industries for donation of. Jackson' 's Christmas tree for the 20241 holiday season. 2. APPROVAL OF AGENDA. Motion to approve the City Council Agenda dated November 25, 2024 as presented. Please note - there is a three (3) minute limit. Mitchell Vinciguerra (Field Representative Local 152, NorCal Carpenters Union) - Provided information on Carpenters' union benefits to City. Encouraged Council to adopt aj policy requiring hiring to include use ofunion represented carpenters. Expressed potential problems/concerns with unrepresented carpenters coming to. Jackson area. November 25, 2024 City Council Meeting Minutes This section is to provide Council members an opportunity to present reports on their activities and to Councilmember Gonsalves - Provided an updated on Economic Development Committee's contributions to Christmas Delights. Festival ofTrees at 118 Main Street has 11 trees decorated by 11 non-profit organizations which will bej judged by the public during Christmas Delights. Sunday volunteers will deliver trees to identified families ini need. Nonprofit organizations were very eager to donate decorations and participate- all eleven trees were signed up within two hours. Next year we may want to consider a larger space to allow for more participation. Potentially consider using the firehouse or other similar larger space. Delightful Bridge is decorated and lit up and will remain through the end ofD December. Mayor McLean mentioned the "Leg Lamp" put up at the laundromat downtown. Councilmember Godde - Volunteered at the Senior Center. Attended Cemetery Committee meeting. Cemetery clean-up on 11/16, many high school students attended and Laurie Fishback was instrumental Vice Mayor Simmons - Will be assisting with delivery of] Festival ofTree Christmas Trees to families Mayor McLean- - Recently connected with Tracy Tonnesen on the Archway for downtown, expected to present to Council at the next Council meeting. Was unable to attend Cemetery clean-up, attended a request item be placed on future agendas. Christmas Delights expected to be a successful event! in organizing and making the event a success. on December 1, 2024. highway clean-up for Native Sons of the Golden West on the same date. 7. DISCUSSION CALENDAR. For the record: Action minutes provide the necessary documentation of City Council actions and audio recordings are retained for those desiring more detail on particular agenda item discussions. These audio recordings provide an accurate and comprehensive backup ofCity Council deliberations and a. Pickleball Club requesting funding to place two new gates and a safety fence at the pickleball courts at] Detert Park and consideration ofthree bids [Keith Sweet, President ofAmador Pickleball Club). Keith Sweet (President of the Amador. Pickleball Club) expressed gratitude to Council for previous funds for the storage shed at the courts. Tournaments are getting crowded at the courts (40+ people attended the last competition) and some left waiting in the parking lot. Requesting to install a fenced area to East of Pickleball courts for attendees and shed install. PW Supt Wilder suggested a 4-foot fence to block off the steep drop-offinto the creek, there will still be a 5-foot setback from the fence to the drop-off. Wilder suggested Sweet obtain 3 bids. One company was not able to complete their bid. Bids presented in packet for Council consideration. Sweet requests approval off funds request to pay lowest bidder, Gideon Fence, Inc. to install the fence and gates at $7725, likely in February or March of2025. Junior Pickleball program is gainingi interest. Working on starting an elementary program next season for 3rd-6th graders, as well as an ACRA after school program for summer of citizen discussion. 2025. Debby Collins inquired ift this marketing district will come at any burden to the City of] Jackson and Mayor requested this item be added to consent calendar, December 9, 2024 City Council meeting. Mahan confirmed there is no burden to the City. 8. REGULAR MEETING/ ADJOURNMENT. Mayor McLean adjourned the regular meeting at 7:20 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on December 9, 2024. 9. CLOSED SESSION.
