Minutes- November 7. 2024/1 Town ofClermont Town Council Meeting November 7, 2024 The Clermont Town Council met on. November 7, 2024. The Mayor called the meeting to order at 7:001 p.m. Present: Mayor. James Nix, Council Members James Castleberry, Marcia Kesler, Amanda Nix, and Seth Weaver. Town Clerk Amy Lomax also attended. APPROVAL OF THE AGENDA: Seth Weaver motioned to approve the agenda. Amanda Nix seconded, and all Council members present voted in favor. James Castleberry seconded the motion, and all Council members present voted in favor. The FINANCIAL STATEMENT: The Mayor and Council reviewed the September 2024 REPORT: PLANNING AND ZONING: The Mayor and Council reviewed this report. After discussion among the Council and audience members, Seth Weaver made ai motion to accept the bid for $845,928.00 from Scroggs and Grizzel Contracting. James Castleberry seconded thei motion. ORDINANCE 82-2024-08-01: SECOND READING: Mayor Nix gave the second reading of Ordinance 82-2024-08-01.This is an ordinance amending the zoning map ofthe Town of Clermont, Georgia, by granting a variance to allow a 24 X 24 addition to an existing 48 x 24 accessory building to be located on that lot designated as tax map parcel #12063 000004 address of101 West St. Clermont, Georgia within the Town ofClermont, Georgia, and owned currently or formerly by Warren' Weaver and Cathy Weaver, and being Motion passed. Seth Weaver abstained due tol his relationship with the petitioners. Motion passed PUBLIC HEARING: CDI PROPERTIES, LLC VARIANCE REQUEST: Mayor Nix opened the public hearing for a variance request from CDI properties at 7:20. Thisi is for a setback variance starting at 28 feet and going down to 8 feet to allow a storage building on the property. The Planning and Zoning Advisory Committee has recommended that the variance be approved. The Mayor asked if anyone had any comments or questions. PROJECT UPDATES: Mayor Nix asked if anyone had any project updates or anything Amy Lomax reminded everyone that we have a Veterans Day program scheduled for tomorrow, November gth, at 10:00 am. All are welcome to attend. The Town will provide Seth Weaver informed everyone that the Christmas Parade will start at the funeral home and end at the Chattahoochee Center this year. We have a new Christmas tree for the lighting that will bej planted where the large oak tree: fell during thei reçent storm. The Town will servel hot chocolate and cookies, and Santa will be ont the stage for the children to visit. James Castleberry asked the Council if the Town would consider allowing the Chattahoochee School board to meet in the Conference room at the Chattahoochee Center for their meetings once a month. James said he would be responsible for opening and closing the building. The Council members present have no objections to allowing the Amy Lomax informed the Council that the audit for FYE 2024 has concluded, and they would like to say. hot dog plates for lunch after the program.
