THE BUSINESS AGENDA Consent Agenda Replacement of] BI Tennis  Background Information: The architectural design and engineering survey has been completed to replace the tennis courts at Bradwell Institute. This project will demolish the existing courts and install regulation tennis courts. In addition, new primer fencing, court netting and windscreens will be installed. ermiting/Construction is scheduled to start in August and will be complete in The bid opening for the replacement of the tennis courts project was held on July 6, 2023. Three firms attended the pre-bid meeting and Pope Construction was the only firm to submit a bid  December.  proposal. Action Items  Athletic Equipment at LCHS field house  Background Information: Currently, LCHS football fieldhouse space is not fully utilized. Our plan is to add new weight equipment and rubberized flooring in the fieldhouse. The new equipment willl helpi improve performance and safety of the players, build team spirit and attract new players. LCHS very own Raekwon McMillan will donate $42,000.00 to purchase new weight equipment. Iti is expected that the equipment will be delivered in 8 weeks after notice to proceed. The District has planned to purchase the weight equipment and flooring directly from Promaxima  and they are a supplier on Buy Boards.  Vendor Promaxima Promaxima  Service Weight Equipment Flooring  Cost $48,142.00 $18,770.00  Recommendation: Approve Promaxima toj provide and install new weight equipment and  rubberized flooring in the LCHS fieldhouse. Policy DIB - Financial Reports Revision Background Information:  GASB Statement No. 87 establishes a single reporting model for lease accounting to enhance the relevance and consistency ofinformation about governments leasing activity. GASB 87 changes the definition ofa lease to eliminate the "capital" and "operating" differences. All leases meeting GASB 87 criteria require Lessees to recognize a lease liability and intangible right-to-use lease asset and Lessors to recognize al lease receivable and a deferred inflow ofr resources. To remain in compliance for auditing purposes the Right to Use has been added to policy DIB. Information Items Contracted Speech Services  Background Information: Currently, DEL has 5 vacancies for the Speech - Language Pathologist positions. In order to maintain required evaluation timelines through IDEA and provide speech therapy services to those students as required by their IEP, a Request for Proposal  will be posted for a second contracted Speech Impaired vendor.  Recommendation: Information only Funding Source: VIB-I IDEA Flow through  Construction Update  Background Information: The District is currently renovating two schools this summer. The interior renovation projects locations are ongoing at the. JME and LES. We are also upgrading the  HVAC system at MMS & upgrading the sport fields at LCHS and BI.  Recommendation: Information only Fiscal Impact: $13,000,000.00 Director ofTechnology divisions: Technical Support Network and Cyber Security System Analysts and Reporting Information Systems and Registrars Instructional Technology Testing Performing Arts Center  Funding Source: Esplost/Operations: /GaDOE/Cares Act/GEFA  Background Information: The technology department is currently made up of the following    Recommendation: In order to better support the complexity and quantity of work performed by the Technology Department as well as to plan for continuity of operations should something happen to thel Executive Director, iti is the recommendation ofthe Superintendent that a new position titled Director of Technology by created. Aj job description has been provided. The salary scale will be the current classified director scale. One of the current network engineer positions willl be left vacant in order to support the cost ofi introducing this new position.
