Patton  MINUTES AUGUST 29, 2024  PUBLIC HEARING & SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING  City of Patton' Village Montgomery County State of Texas  On the 29th day of August 2024, the City of Patton Village Council conducted a Public Hearing and Special Council Meeting, the meetings being open to the public and notice of said meetings, the date, place, and subject posted  as pursuant to the provisions of Texas Government Code.  6:42 PM Public Hearing Opened 1. New Business:  A. Public Hearing: City of Patton Village, Texas Fiscal Year 2024-2025 Proposed Budget.  B. Motion was made by Council Member Garry Hershman and seconded by Council Member Billy Crittenden to discuss and take possible action' regarding an Ordinance: AN ORDINANCE APPROVING AND ADOPTING THE CITY OF PATTON VILLAGE, TEXAS, GENERAL BUDGET FOR THE YEAR: 2024-2025; MAKING APPROPRIATIONS FOR THE CITY SUCH YEAR AS REFLECTED IN SAID BUDGET; ESTABLISHING THE PROCEDURES FOR INTRA BUDGET Motion was made by Council Member Garry Hershman and seconded by Council Member Barbara Earhart to approve and adopt ORDINANCE 2024-006 AN ORDINANCE APPROVING AND ADOPTING THE CITY OF PATTON VILLAGE, TEXAS, GENERAL BUDGET FOR THE YEAR 2024-2025; MAKING APPROPRIATIONS FOR THE CITYSUCH YEAR AS REFLECTED IN SAID BUDGET; ESTABLISHING THE PROCEDURES FOR INTRA BUDGET TRANSFERS; AND  TRANSFERS; AND CONTAINING OTHER PROVISIONS RELATING TOTHE SUBJECT. Motion was made by Council Member Dyane Anderson and seconded by Council Member Garry Hershman to consider, discuss, and take possible action regarding the adoption of the portion of the Tax Rate to fund the Motion was made by Council Member Billy Crittenden and seconded by Council Member Barbara Earhart to consider, adopt, and set by Order/Ordinance the 2024 Ad' Valorem Tax Rate for Maintenance and Operations,  maintenance and operations of the City of Patton' Village for Fiscal Year 2024-2025.  $0.1650/S100.  VOTE: All in favor Motion carried.  B. Motion was made by Council Garry Hershman and seconded by Council Member Barbara Earhart to consider, discuss, and take possible action regarding the adoption oft the portion oft the Tax Rate toi fund the debt service of Motion was made by Council Member Billy Crittenden and seconded by Council Member Barbara Earhart to consider, adopt, and set by Order/Ordinance the 2024 Ad Valorem Tax Rate for Debt Service, $0.1590/S100.  the City of Patton' Village for Fiscal Year 2024-2025.  VOTE: Alli in favor Motion carried.  C.Motion was made by Council Member Garry Hershman and seconded by Council Member Billy Crittenden to discuss and take possible action regarding an Ordinance: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PATTON VILLAGE, TEXAS; PROVIDING FOR THE LEVY AND COLLECTION OF AD VALOREM TAXES OF THE CITY OF PATTON VILLAGE, TEXAS FOR THE YEAR 2024; PROVIDING THE DATE ON WHICH SUCH AD VALOREM TAXES SHALL BE DUE AND PAYABLE; PROVIDING FOR PENALTY AND INTEREST ON ALL TAXES NOT TIMELY PAID; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND, REPEALING ALL OTHER ORDINANCES ORI PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH. Motion was made by Council Member Billy Crittenden and seconded by Council Member Barbara Earhart to pass, approve, and adopt Ordinance 2024-005 to move that the property taxi rate bei increased by the adoption ofat tax  rate of $0.3240, whichi is effectively an 8.69 percent increase in thet tax rate.
