TPatton  MINUTES TO REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING  AUGUST 8, 2024  City of Patton Village Montgomery County State of Texas  On the gth day of August 2024, the City of Patton Village Council conducted a Regular Meeting, the meeting being open to the public and notice of said meeting, the date, place, and subject posted as pursuant to the provisions of  Texas Government Code.  6:38P.M. Council to consider, discuss, and take possible action to approve a variance on the placement of a manufactured B. Motion was made by Council Member Billy Crittenden and seconded by Council Member Garry Hershman to consider, discuss, amend, action, and/or approve monthly reports from the following departments:  Removed.  Engineering Department Utility Department Police Department Permits Department Code Enforcement    City Hall all received monthly reports. Motion was made by Council Member Garry Hershman and seconded by Council Member Billy Crittenden to consider and discuss the proposed budget fort the City of Patton Village, Texas year beginning October 1, 2024, and Motion was made by Council Member Barbara Earhart and seconded by Council Member Garry Hershman to approve the Proposed Budget Hearing for the City of Patton Village, Texas year beginning October 1, 2024, and  ending September 30, 2025, and call a public hearing for August 29, 2024.  ending September 30, 2025, to be held August 29, 2024.  Vote: Alli in favor Motion carried.  D. Motion was made by Council Member Garry Hershman and seconded by Billy Crittenden to consider and discuss the tax rates needed to fund the Fiscal Year 2025 budget and authorize the meeting notice publication for Motion was made by Council Member Billy Crittenden and seconded by Council Member Barbara Earhart to approve the proposed tax rate of 0.3240 and authorize the meeting publication notice for August 29, 2024. Motion was made by Council Member Barbara Earhart and seconded by Council Member Billy Crittenden to consider, discuss, and take possible action on extending the service contract with the internet provider. Motion was made by Council Member Billy Crittenden and seconded by Council Member Barbara Earhart to approve  extending the service contract 5-years with the internet provider.  Vote: All in favor Motion carried.  F. Motion was made by Council Member Barbara Earhart and seconded by Council Member Garry Hershman to consider, discuss, and take possible action on purchasing a city cell phone for the Chief of Police. Motion was made by Council Member Billy Crittenden and seconded by Council Member Barbara Earhart to approve  issuing the extra Warrant Division phone to the Chief of Police.  Vote: All in favor Motion carried.  G. Motion was made by Council Member Dyane Anderson and seconded by Council Member Garry Hershman to consider, discuss, and take possible action on purchasing a city cell phone for Permits Code Enforcement Officer. Motion was made by Council Member Barbara Earhart and seconded by Council Member Dyane Anderson to  postpone purchasing a city cell phone for Permits - Code Enforcement Officer indefinitely.  Vote: Alli in favor Motion carried.  H. Motion was made by Council Member Garry Hershman and seconded by Council Member Billy Crittenden to consider, discuss, and take possible action on scheduling workshops to discuss revised employee handbook. Motion was made by Council Member Barbara Earhart and seconded by Council Member Billy Crittenden to approve  av workshop on September 26, 2024 @ 6:30PM to discuss the revised employee handbook.  Vote: All in favor Motion carried.  I. For discussion only, the mayor to give an updated status report on some and/or all completed, pending, and  ongoing city projects (roads, mitigation, water wells, and general).    7:27P.M.
