Guests: Christina Pacheco, Ronnie Maynes, Bianca Acosta. 2. Approval of Agenda: Motion by Arlene to approve, Lonnie 2nd, unanimous approval. 3. Approval of the August 7th, 2024, Senior Citizens Advisory Board Minutes: Edits to be made are 90% of the meals made by Meals on Wheels are delivered. Updates from staff on city legal and financial operating procedures- Charter 7.1 General Provisions for Boards and Commissions gives distinction, LSCAB is at the policy level and needs to be advisory in character. The role of members is encouragement and recommendation of policies with data collected. Individuals are able to volunteer and take donations for organizations as civilians, not as board members in order to remain in capacity of the Charter. Though Friends of the Senior Center can bei inquired of funds concerning food distribution, conceivably, gearing support to non-profit organizations in that current role holding partnerships with the City of Longmont, would be a considerable lead. C.P Food Insecurities - Naomi Curland Longmont Food Rescue is a non-profit organization who provides food locally grown with open pick-up events with no proof of ID or paperwork. Volunteers pick up excess food from groceries, convenience stores, farms and farmers markets with the goal of nutritional value, who also manage community outdoor refrigerators and hutches filled multiple times a week for those not able access events or fresh food. Their website includes social media, location maps and community guidelines. LFR is looking to expand regions and reestablish with LSC as a food hub, as once was prior to 2020. Carmen Ramirez and Guillermo Estrada volunteered a map showing age, financial resources and people to help identify by ward where there is outreach need, distance and barriers of resources. All this gathered to create a presentation after October (November, December) to City Manager Harold Dominguez after the city budgetschedule. 7. New Business A. E-mail Communication: -Whenever three or more members (or a quorum of the members, if fewer than three) of the "local public body" get together and public business is discussed, or formal action may be taken, the gathering is a meeting that the OML directs shall be open to the public.
