MINUTES OF THE CITY OF FATE PARKS & RECREATION ADVISORY BOARD MEETING AUGUST 6, 2024  1. CALL TO ORDER AND ROLL CALL  Board Member Tiffany King called the meeting of the Fate Parks and Recreation Advisory Board to order at 6:00 p.m. on the 6th day of August, 2024, in Fate City Hall located at 1900 Board Member King confirmed the presence of a quorum and performed a roll call.  CD Boren Parkway, Fate, Texas.  Board Members Present: Tiffany King Michelle Dominique Mayowa Ijagbemi Barry Brafman Ryan Strobel Gregg Rauwolf Board Members Absent: Virginia Harris City Staff Present:  Steve Gilbert, Director of Community Services and Building Safety  Ashley Martin, Community Services Coordinator Robert Highfield, Associate Planner Samantha Harris, Deputy City Secretary  2. DISCUSS, CONSIDER, AND TAKE ANY NECESSARY ACTION REGARDING ELECTING OFFICERS OF THE PARKS AND RECREATION BOARD  Chairman  Board Member Michelle Dominique nominated Tiffany King for Chairman of the Parks and  Recreation Advisory Board. There were no other nominations. The vote on the nomination was as follows:  Tiffany King received 6 votes, unanimously securing the nomination and was elected as  Chairman. Vice-Chairman  August 6, 2024 Parks and Recreation Board Meeting Minutes  Page Page1of3    Board Member Tiffany King nominated Michelle Dominique for Vice-Chairman of the Parks Board Member Michelle Dominique nominated Barry Brafman for Vice-Chairman of the Parks  and Recreation Advisory Board. and Recreation Advisory Board. There were no other nominations. The vote on the nomination was as follows: Barry Brafman received 4 votes. Michelle Dominique received 2 votes.  Barry Brafman secured the nomination and was elected as Vice-Chairman.  3. CITIZEN COMMENTS  This item provides the opportunity for citizens to address the Parks Board on any matter whether or not. it's posted on the agenda. However, in accordance with the Texas Open Meetings Act, Section 551.041, the Parks Board cannot discuss, deliberate, or take action on matters not listed on the agenda. At this time the Parks Board will receive citizen comments, and ifr necessary, may refer the matter to City staff for research, resolution or referral to Parks Megan Shutt, 412 Sugarberry Lane spoke about the addition and benefits of adding a 4. DISCUSS, CONSIDER, AND TAKE ANY NECESSARY ACTION REGARDING APPROVAL OF MINUTES FROM THE MEETING HELD JULY 2, 2024 Board Member Dominique moved to approve the Minutes of the Parks and Recreation  Board on a future agenda. skatepark in the City.  Advisory Board meeting held July 2, 2024. Board Member Ijagbemi seconded the motion.  There was no discussion and the vote on the motion was as follows:  Ayes: Chairman King and Board Members Dominique, ljagbemi, Strobel, and Rauwolf.  Nays: Board Member Brafman. Chairman King declared the motion passed.  5. DISCUSS, CONSIDER, AND TAKE ANY NECESSARY ACTION REGARDING PARK Steve Gilbert, Director of Community Services and Building Safety provided a brief update of the Parks and Recreation Board Responsibilities and Duties, at which time he answered questions  AND RECREATION BOARD RESPONSIBILITES AND DUTIES  from the Board regarding the same.  August 6, 2024 Parks and Recreation Board Meeting Minutes  Page |Page2of3    6.D DISCUSS, CONSIDER, AND TAKE ANY NECESSARY ACTION REGARDING Robert Highfield, Associate Planner provided a presentation regarding the Sidewalk and Trail Connectivity Plan, at which time he answered questions from the Board regarding the same. 7.DISCUSS, CONSIDER, AND TAKE ANY NECESSARY ACTION REGARDING Ashley Martin, Community Services Coordinator provided a brief update regarding the Celebrate Fate 2024 Update, at which time she answered questions from the Board regarding the same. 8.D DISCUSS, CONSIDER, AND TAKE ANY NECESSARY ACTION REGARDING JOE Ashley Martin, Community Services Coordinator provided al brief update regarding the Joe Burger Park Update, at which time she answered questions from the Board regarding the same.  SIDEWALK AND TRAIL CONNECTIVITY PLAN  CELEBRATE FATE 2024 UPDATE  BURGER PARK UPDATE  9.ADJOURNMENT  Board Member Brafman moved to adjourn the meeting. Board Member Dominique seconded the motion.  There was no further discussion and the vote on the motion was as follows:  Ayes: Chairman King and Board Members Dominique, Brafman, ljagbemi, Strobel, and Chairman King declared the motion carried unanimously and the meeting was adjourned at APPROVED BY THE PARKS AND RECREATION ADVISORY BOARD ON THE 3DAYOF  Rauwolf.
