BACKGROUND  Itisr recommended that the City Council adopt Resolution No. 2024-54 declaring the results oft the November 5, 2024 General Municipal Election for filling one (1) open seat each in City Council  The City Council adopted Resolution 2024-15 on June 18, 2024 calling for a General Municipal Election to fill one (1) open seat each in City Council Districts one (1), and five (5), for four-year  terms. SSUESIANALYSIS  The City held the consolidated General Municipal Election on November 5, 2024 to fill one (1) That the names of persons voted for at the election for members of the City Council by district are  open seat each in City Council Districts one (1), and five (5).  as follows: District 1  Chris Ochoa - 2,880 total votes Rebekah Swanson- - 2,410 total votes Bill Jensen - 1,048 total votes James Roberts - 1,451 total votes Josh Pullen - 3,318 total votes James Blocker - 4591 total votes FISCAL IMPACT  District5  Final election costs will not be known for severai months. Exhibit' "A" Certification of Final Election Results    RESOLUTION NO. 2024-54  AI RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HESPERIA, CALIFORNIA, RECITING THE FACT OF THE GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD ON NOVEMBER 5, 2024, DECLARING THE RESULT  AS PROVIDED BY LAW  WHEREAS, a General Municipal Election was conducted in the City of Hesperia, WHEREAS, notice of the election was given in time, form and manner as provided by law; that voting precincts were properly established; that election officers were appointed and that in all respects the election was held and conducted and the votes were cast, received and canvassed and the returns made and declared in time, form and manner as required by the provisions of the Elections Code of the State of California for the WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution 2024-16, the San Bernardino Registrar of Voters Office canvassed the returns of the election and certified the results to this City Council, the results are received, attached, and made a part hereof as Exhibit A." NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF HESPERIA CITY COUNCIL: Section 1. That the whole number of ballots cast in City District one (1) was 6,028 and that the whole number of ballots cast in City District five (5) was 7,183. Section 2. That the names of persons voted for at the election to fill one (1) open seat each in City Council Districts one (1), and five (5) for four-year terms are as  California on Tuesday, November 5, 2024 as required by law; and  holding of elections in general law cities; and  follows: District 1 Chris Ochoa Rebekah Swanson  District5 5 Bill. Jensen James Roberts Josh Pullen James Blocker  Section 3. That the number of votes given in the City to each of the persons named for the respective offices for which the person were candidates were as listed in Section 4. The City Council does declare and determine that Chris Ochoa (District 1) and Josh Pullen (District 5) were elected to the City Council for a full term. These terms to expire following certification of the November 2028 General Election. Section 5. That the City Clerk shall enter on the records of the City Council a statement of the results of the election to be provided at the Council Meeting as Exhibit "B" certifying the election results showing: (a) the whole number of votes cast in each district; (b) the names of the persons voted for; (c) for what office each  Exhibit "A" attached. That the City Clerk shall immediately make and deliver to the person sO elected a Certificate of Election signed by the City Clerk and authenticated; that the City Clerk (or deputized official) shall administer to the person elected the Oath of Office prescribed in the Constitution of the State of California and shall have him/her subscribe to it and file it in the office of the City Clerk. The person sO elected shall then be inducted into the respective office to which they have been elected. Section 7.
