Bedford Beautification Advisory Board Minutes October 21, 2024  STATE OF TEXASS S COUNTY OF TARRANTS S CITY OF BEDFORD S following members present: Andrew' Woolen - Chairperson Tycom Wright-Vice Chairperson Duane MacDonald Mike McGonigle Shelby Harveaux-Secretary Constituting a quorum. City Council /S Staff Representatives: Don Henderson - Parks Superintendent Nichelle Dawkins - Councilperson  The Bedford Beautification Advisory Board met in regular session on October 21, 2024, with the  Karen Jacobsen Sheila Kudray Rob Wisson Tammy Herrin  CALL TO ORDER  Andrew Woolen, Chairperson, called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m.  APPROVALOFI MINUTES  1. Consider approval of the following Beautification minutes: September 16, 2024 regular meeting. Sheila Kudray moved that the minutes be approved; Duane McDonald seconded. The motion 2. Staff updates: New Candidates introduced. Don Henderson (Parks Superintendent) introduced himself. Mr. Henderson provided an update on Paper Shred Day. 343 cars were served on the  carried.  paper shred side. 145 cars went through the E-waste alone.  NEW BUSINESS  3. Discussion and possible action: Approval of Misc Funds ($1500.00) Tycom Wright moved to  approve the funds. Mike McGonigle seconded. The motion carried.  OLD BUSINESS  4.A Arbor Day event discussion: April event (proposed). The Parks & Recreation advisory board will work with the Beautification advisory board on this project. Shelby Harveaux, Mike McGonigle, and Tycom Wright will have further communication with the Parks & Recreation advisory board to  determine how to do an event together.    5. Discussion of possible action on Fall Sweep (November 16). Teen court signed up. (Tycom). Sorority contact via Nichelle Dawkins. IB Trinity and LD Bell, Junior Honor Society, and boy 6.D Discussion of and possible action towards Harwood median trees. Discuss potential trees to place at the next meeting. Native trees, non-invasive roots, think about debris from the trees. 7. Discussion and possible action on the Monarch Way Station at OBS. Possible 2k grant. We will find out in February 2025. We would have a year to complete it. Andrew Woolen will send out the  scout troops (all contacted by Andrew Woolen).  Andrew Woolen is sending out the deck for tree selection.  bids for us to review. NEXT MEETING  The next scheduled meeting of the Beautification Advisory Board will be November 18, 2024.  The next scheduled workday is November 16th, 2024, with the Fall Sweep.  ADJOURMMENT  There being no additional business, Karen Jacobsen made a motion for adjournment of the meeting; Tycom Wright seconded the motion.
