Library Board Minutes October 16, 2024  APPROVED  STATE OF TEXAS COUNTY OF TARRANT S CITY OF BEDFORD  S  S  The Library Board of the City of Bedford, Texas, metat7:00 p.m. int the Library, 2424 Forest Ridge Drive on the 16th day of October 2024 to review items on the regular agenda and to hear staff reports, with the following members present, constituting a quorum:  Present: Deborah Chaney Susan Hampton Joshua Hawks Lori Irvin Janet Key Tammy McDonald Shonda Patterson Also Present:  Joy Donvan Brandon, Council Liaison Maria Redburn, Director of Library the 10th day of October 2024.) CALL TO ORDER  (The following items were considered in accordance with the official agenda posted on  Board Chair, Janet Key, called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.  ROLL CALLINTRODUCIONS  The Library Advisory Board welcomed to new members Deborah Chaney and Joshua Hawks.  PUBLIC COMMENTS No public comments were given. APPROVAL OF MINUTES August 21, 2024, regular meeting  1. Consider approval of the following Library Board minutes:  Board Member Hampton made a motion to approve the minutes. Motion was seconded by  Board Member Patterson. Update on the Annual Library Satisfaction Survey. to November 151 to allow time for more responses. 3. Update on the Business Plan. suggestions fori improvement were made:  As of October 15, 292 surveys had been completed. Responses have been largely positive. The Library will do a couple more social media posts about the survey. The survey may be extended  Redburn reviewed the Library Business Plan and asked Board members fori input. The Library Business Plan will be reviewed again at the November meeting.  NEW BUSINESS  4. Report on North Texas Giving Day.  Redburn reported that the Library Foundation raised over $9,000. There were 107 donors with 64% of donors having given in the past. The Watch Party was a success. This was the most successful North Texas Giving Day due to the enthusiasm and full participation of the Library  Foundation Board. Chair Nicky Gibson and her committee did a great job.  5. Report on Friends Book Sale.  Redburn reported that the Friends of the Bedford Public Library raised over $1,300 and moved inventory to make space for incoming donations. There were no complaints this time regarding  the new donations only format rather than pricing based on format. 7. Discussion and distribution of Library Director's Report. Director's Report was distributed and is attached to the minutes.  REPORTS  NEXT MEETING  8. The next meeting of the Library Advisory Board is Wednesday, November 20, 2024.  ADJOURMMENT MacDonald.
