Crump City Manager ROCKINGHAM A CITY LOOKING FORWARD To: From: Date: Subject: Rockingham City Council Dave Davis, Parks and Recreation Director July! 5, 2023 Activity report The following is a list of activities involving our department this month Flag Football - Currently, we have over 100 participants registered to play and we should begin league practices and games the middle of this month. Dental Awareness Week - Johnnie Brigman, is a licensed Dental Hygienist/Instructor and employed full-time with our state. She, and a few of her colleagues, will be offering at free dental screening and sealant procedure to our day camp and swim program Youth Baseball/Softball - Both of these programs concluded on Friday, June 30th. Our new format of more games and less practices worked out well and both participants sand Summer programs - Our Summer Day Camp and Swim Programs are progressing nicely. The seasonal staff is experienced and the campers are always busy and engaging in some activity. Both these programs have experienced 10-15% increases in enrolment. Hinson Lake - This remains a very popular destination and serves a diverse section of our city and county residents. Every weekend is reserved through the first weekend in Youth Soccer Fall soccer registration begins Monday, July 17th and concludes childrenJuly 17th, -25th parents seemed to enjoy the season.
