April 21, 2021 Regular Meeting ofthe Amelia County Board of Supervisors to order at 7:00 P.M. and determined there was a quorum with all five members participating. Supervisor Easter offered the invocation, and everyone participated in the Pledge of Allegiance. CONSENT. AGENDA The April agenda was approved on ai motion by Supervisor Harris. The following minutes were approved on a motion by Supervisor Felts: March 10, 2021 Workshop March 17, 2021 Regular Meeting The March financial reports were approved on a motion by Supervisor Harris. PUBLICCOMMENTS No one spoke at the Public Comment section. 1 STAIFICOMMITTEEORGANZATIONAL REPORTS AND PRESENTATIONS Rebecca Worley ofVDOT, reported on activities in Amelia County. Dr.L Lori Harper reported on Amelia School Board activities. A supplemental appropriation request was approved. Board members gave reports on committee meetings they had attended. See attached statement. During Supervisor Weyant's comments, he spoke regarding lack of attendance by several members of the Landfill Advisory Committee. The Board voted to have Dennis Tatum removed for not being ai resident of Amelia County and appointed Paul Puckett. Southside Electric Coop gave a report on the February Storms. Director of Community Development provided an update on Capital Improvement Dr. Susan Baker of Crossroads spoke to the Board about Crossroads roles and how they Projects. serve the County. PLANNING. DEPARTMENT OF FINANCE A public hearing was held for the FY2022 Budget. No one spoke and the public hearing was closed. The Board agreed to continue the April meeting to April 30, 2021 to vote on the acceptance oft the FY 2022 budget. OLD/NEW BUSINESS The Board discussed the possibility of al local cigarette taxes. The Board instructed staff to revise the Amelia County Vehicle License Ordinance to The Board unanimously approved the Small Purchase Policy Revision on ai motion by eliminate the decals. Supervisor Harris. 2 COUNTY ADMINISTRATORS REPORT The host fee check from Waste Management for March 2021 was $294,278.13. CRC submitted the March Items of] Interest. DMV Select submitted financial reports for February. Taylor Harvie submitted a supplemental appropriation. Taylor Harvie gave an update on the Riverstreet project. Quarterly reports were presented to the Board. BOARD MEMBERS COMMENTSREPORTS District 1-the Honorable David M. Felts.Jr. Supervisor Felts: Iwould like to thank citizens for being engaged. Last few weeks I've had questions from citizens concerning rezoning requests, construction on Soapstone Rd, bio solids and a hungry bear issue. District 3-The Honorable Shaun Weyant Supervisor Weyant said he wanted the Board meetings to go back to the High School to allow public attendance.
