July 20, 2022 Regular Meeting oft the Amelia County Board of Supervisors to order at 7:00 P.M. and determined there was a quorum with all five members participating. Supervisor Felts offered the invocation, and everyone joined ini the Pledge of  Allegiance. CONSENT AGENDA  The agenda was amended to remove amendments to the tax relief for elderly and disabled. Supervisor Felts also said he wanted to report on the actions at the. July 7,2022 The following minutes were approved with changes on ai motion by Supervisor Weyant:  Workshop.  June 2, 2022 Workshop June 15, 2022 Regular Meeting  The June Financial reports were approved on a motion by Supervisor Weyant.  PUBLIC COMMENTS  Eric Bronson, James River spoke in favor of the proposed solar farm.  Robbie Parsons spoke against the solar farm. Kenny Paulette spoke against the solar farm.    Diana Morris spoke against the solar farm. Lane Gunn spoke in support oft the solar farm. Robert Bradshaw spoke against the solar farm.  Martin Konkel spoke regarding the proposed shooting range for the Sheriff's Office.  Justin Wade spoke in support of the solar farm.  Allison Crews said she supported solar but not this particular project. She also said she attended the EDA meeting. She voiced her concerns with the Landfill Advisory  Committee minutes being incorrect. Beth Stanly spoke against the solar farm.  IAPPCOMMITTEPORGANZATIONAL REPORTS AND PRESENTATIONS Rebecca Worley, ofVDOT, gave a report on road projects in the County.  Dr. Cynthia Reasoner and Carly Bullock reported on Amelia School Board activities and financial reports. Two supplemental appropriations were approved on ai motion by Supervisor.Jones. A request for "carry-over" funds was not approved on a vote of2-3  with Supervisors Felts, Jones and Robinson voting against. The Board reported on meetings they have attended.  Jane Henderson, Virginia Extension Agency, introduced a new employee, L.K. Mondrey. June 2022 was $278,482.18.  CRC submitted the June Items ofI Interest.  DMV Select submitted financial reports for. June 2022. Columbia Gas of Virginia submitted ai notice for ai rate increase. Mr. Harvie presented quarterly reports from county agencies.  BOARD MEMBERS COMMENTSREPORTS District 1-The Honorable David M. Felts  Supervisor Felts said he felts the same as other Board members regarding the solar farm. He said he was not pleased with the one on Genito Road. He believed the Board has learned a lot.  District 2-The Honorable Dexter Jones  Supervisor Jones said voting for the solar farm was one oft the toughest decisions he has had to  make-and hoped it will be a goed thing for the citizens. . District 3-The Honorable Shaun Weyant  Supervisor Weyant reminded everyone about National Night Out and encouraged everyone to attend. He also said he is not crazy about solar but believed in rights of! landowners.  5 3    District 4-the Honorable H.. Joseph Easter, IV  Supervisor Easter said he was looking forward to the county activities coming up. He also said that the county has to be careful and that the loudest is not always the majority.  District 5-The Honorable Todd Robinson solar farm will operate as promised.
