TAYLOR HARVIE, III, County Administrator HOLLY STEELE, Director of Community Development BRENDA ARTHUR, Administrative Assistant  JEFF GORE, County Attorney  Chairman Easter called the July 21, 2021 Regular Meeting oft the Amelia County Board of Supervisors to order at 7:001 P.M. and determined there was a quorum with all: five members participating. Supervisor Easter offered the invocation, and everyone participated in the Pledge  ofAllegiance. CONSENT AGENDA  The. July agenda was amended to remove the public hearing for Courthouse Commons Rezoning. The amended agenda was approved on ai motion by Supervisor Harris. The following minutes were approved on ai motion by Supervisor Felts:  June 9, 2021 Workshop June 16, 2021 Regular Meeting  The. June financial reports were approved on a motion by Supervisor Scott.  PUBLIC COMMENTS  Matthew Brown spoke regarding Broadband in the County.  Patricia Archer spoke about Field Day of the Past and informed the Board that event  representatives were there.    Thomas Woodall of] Prince Edward, spoke regarding his displeasure in Crossroads. Shawn Flippen addresses the Board about several issues hel has with happenings in the Martin Konkel spoke in opposition of building the proposed apartments on Amelia Ave. Rodney Jones inquired whether the apartment request would go back to the planning STAFF/COMMITTEP/ORGANIZATIONAL REPORTS AND PRESENTATIONS Rebecca Worley ofVDOT, reported on activities in Amelia County. appropriations was approved on a motion by Supervisor Weyant. Board members gave reports on meetings they have attended.  County.  commission if there were any changes.  Dr.Lori Harper reported on Amelia School Board activities. A request for supplemental  COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT  Asubdivision name request was approved on a motion by Supervisor Scott.  OLD/NEW BUSINESS  Angel Cox was appointed to the. Amelia Day Committee.  Lance Cardelino was appointed to the Economic Development Authority on a motion by Supervisor Scott. The vote was 3-2 with Supervisors Easter and Weyant voting against. Are resolution for the Personal Property Tax Relief. Act was approved on a motion by  Supervisor Harris.  Aj public hearing to update the erosion and sediments fees was held with no comments. Aj public hearing to update planning and zoning fees was held with no comments. The Aj public hearing to eliminate car decals was held with no comments. Supervisor requested that W: Bunker Hill Road be removed for paving and Selma Road be included ini its place. The motion was passed 3-2 with Supervisors Easter and Weyant voting County Administrator Taylor Harvie presented a grant application from Virginia Telecommunication Initiative (VITA). The Board took no action on that but on ai motion by Supervisor Easter asked that all invoices from Riverstreet be brought before the Board  against.  before payment. The request was unanimously approved. Payment was. held for a quarterly invoice from Crossroads. vote of4-1 with Supervisor Easter voting against. DMV Select submitted financial reports for May 2021.  Piedmont Senior Resources submitted their monthly newsletter, The Advocate. Virginia Resources Authority submitted ai reminder for the Virginia Pooled Financing Southern Dominion Health System submitted ai request seeking exemption from real estate and personal property taxes. The Board requested Mr. Harvie and County  Program application deadline.  Attorney, Jeff Gore to look into it.  Mr. Harvie presented the quarterly reports from county agencies.  BOARD MEMBERSCOMMENTSREPORIS District 3-The Honorable Shaun Weyant  Supervisor Weyant thanked the citizens for reaching out with their comments.  3    District 4-The Honorable H. Joseph Easter, IV  Supervisor Easter also thanked the people for speaking out and said he agreed with the paving of Selma Road but could not be responsible for past Board's actions. He said he was disappointed with the misinformation people had been sharing. He clarified that no closed meetings have  been held concerning the proposed apartments.
