June 16, 2021 Regular Meeting oft the. Amelia County Board of Supervisors to order at 7:001 P.M. and determined there was a quorum with all five members participating. Supervisor Easter offered the invocation, and everyone participated in the Pledge of Allegiance. CONSENT AGENDA The. June agenda was amended to include appointment to the Landfill Advisory Committee and a presentation from Parks and Recreation. PUBLICCOMMENIS Matthew Brown asked why the County was considering another water tower. STAFF/COMMITTEE/ORGANIZATIONAL REPORTS AND PRESENTATIONS Rebecca Worley ofVDOT, reported on activities in Amelia County. Shaun Weyant asked to have Fowlkes Bridge Road and Bunker Hill Road added to the Secondary Six Year Plan. Supervisor Felts motioned to add Selma Road and Bunker Hill Road to the Secondary Six Year Plan. The motion failed 2-3. Supervisor Weyant motioned to have Fowlkes Bridge Road and Bunker Hill Road to the Secondary Six Year Plan. The motion Dr. Lori Harper reported on Amelia School Board activities. A request for carry over funds request was approved on a motion by Supervisor Scott. Bo Lynch requested $119, 838 for a site study through CIP. That request was approved on a motion by Supervisor passed. Weyant. Board members gave reports on meeting they have attended. County Administrator, Taylor Harvie, gave an update on thel Riverstreet project. PLANNING AND ZONING Aj public hearing was held for ai rezoning request by Nibbs Creek Properties for RR-31 to R-10. Russ Moore spoke in favor oft the request and said more building lots were needed in Amelia. The request was approved on a motion by Supervisor Weyant. As special event permit tol hold an Old Fashion County Fair was approved on a motion by Holly Steele gave an update on Virginia's Crossroads, formally Virginia's Retreat. Supervisor Felts. OLD/NEW BUSINESS Don Garrett was appointed to the Landfill Advisory Committee on ai motion by Robert Smith was appointed to the Eda on ai motion by Supervisor Felts. Carly Bullock was appointed to the EDA on a motion by Supervisor Scott. Supervisor Easter gave an update on Crossroads Community Services Board. He motioned to have contributions from the county submitted quarterly and bring them before the Board for a vote. The board unanimously approved the: motion. He also said counties that requested the forensic audit] pay: fori it and no Crossroads funding be used. Supervisor Scott. Ona motion by Supervisor Felts, the Board approved toj proceed with the project. COUNTY ADMINISTRATORS REPORT Thel host fee check from Waste Management for May 2021 was $285,459.77. CRC: submitted the May Items of Interest. DMV Select submitted financial reports for April 2021. Martin Marietta announced price increases beginning July 1,2021. Columbia Gas announced the extension of some oft their programs. Mr. Harvie announced a supplemental appropriation. BOARD MEMBERS COMMENTSREPORTS District 1-The Honorable David M. District 5-The Honorable Franklin D. Harris Supervisor Harris wanted to thank all the volunteers who serve the county. He said it bothered him about thel EDA and turning down people who want to participate.
