John Burns moved to recommend approval of the June 24, 2024 meeting minutes. Kevin Klinker secondedi the motion. Approval of the Minutes The motion passed unanimously. New Business Public Relations and Education Committee: No report District Committee: 1302 South St. Shawna McCully presented. a petition from Savannah Crow for designation of 1302 South St. as the newl Local St. Mary's/1302: South St. Historic District. The Free Classic style structure was built ini the early 1900s (possibly as early as 1895). Thel home has been modified and maintains its relationship toi thes street. Dann Keiser stated that the structure has historic character, is rated as Contributing, andi is worthy of designation as al historic district. Alec Williams made a motion to recommend approval of the petition, John Burns seconded. The motion passed unanimously. 717 Columbia St. Shawna McCully presented: a petition from Savannah Crew for designation of 717 Columbia St as the newl Local Ellsworth/717 Columbia St. Historic District. The Second Empire style structure was built around 1870. Dann Keiser notedi that the structure rated as Notable, and although it has had modifications over they years it still maintains historic character andi is worthy of designation as a historic district. The motion passed unanimously. 522 Perrin Ave. Shawna McCully presented a petition from Thomas McCullyf fori inclusion of 522 Perrin. Ave. into the existing Local Perrin North Historic District. Originally built ini the Gothic Revival stylei in about 1874, it was modified in 1915toa Tudor Revival style. Dann Keiser noted that the structure is rated as Notable, and although it has had modifications, its still maintains historic character and is worthy of inclusion into the Local Perrin North Historic district. Julie Ginn made a motion to recommend approval oft the petition, Kevin Klinker seconded. The motion passed unanimously. Shawna McCully presented a petition from Peter Prahi for designation of 204 Tinkler St. as the new Local Perrin/Cason: St./204 Tinkler St. Historic District. The structure is al brick Italianate: style, built ina about 1880. Dann Keiser noted that the structure, rated as Notable, maintains historic character and is worthy of designation: asa historic district. The structure has intact cornice and a carriage house that has been modified. Shawnal McCully made ar motion to recommend approval of the petition, Julie Ginn seconded. The motion passed unanimously. Shawna McCully presented a petition from Tyler and Lindsey Ann Sherman fori inclusion of 500 N. 6th St. into the Local Centennial Historic District. The structure is Italianate style, built in 1879. The windows have been updated and are not original. Dann Keiser: stated that the structure is rated as Contributing, maintains historic character and is worthy of inclusion into the Local Centennial Historic District. COA Committee: Greenbush Cemetery-Install Headstone Sean Lutes presented this application on behalf of petitioner, the General de Lafayette Chapter of the DAR, to install a new headstone to the currently unmarked grave of GeneralTootles, an African American Civil War veteran. The new headstone is a standard, military-issued, simple limestone marker similar to many that are already in Greenbush Cemetery and at the Soldier's Home in' West Lafayette. His wife's gravestone, although damaged, is adjacent toi the site of the proposed new headstone. Based on historical review, he is buried next to her despite the fact that no headstone exists for General Tootles. The local Daughters oft the American Revolution (DAR) hope to correct this by adding an official marker. Julie Ginn made ar motion to recommend approval of the petition, Shawna McCully seconded. The motion passed unanimously. 725 Main Street-Rehabilitate Building Exterior Sean Lutes presented this application on behalf of petitioner, Geoff McGregor fora a new: storefront for 725 Main St. and other general façade rehabilitation work. The storefront will ber restored to look very similar tot the original 1860s storefront. The owners will also repair/restore: the existing upper-story windows andi the cornice and brackets on thet front (Main St.): side of the building. Ont the back (alley) side oft the building, the owner plans to replace the 6 existing upper-story windows with aluminum clad wood windows at thet full size of the existing window opening. Dann Keiser would prefer that replacement windows be 4 over 41 to match the existing windows if possible, but the COA committee was ok with the one over one pattern included in the COA. Ann Amato made a motion to recommend approval of the petition, Julie Ginn seconded. The motion passed unanimously.
