PRESENTATION: Chief Tacon and Mayor LeJeune presented new pins for the promotions in the Fire Department: Battalion Chief Adam Queen, Captain Joe Staska, Lieutenant Adam Ogletree, Lieutenant Dexter PRESENTATION: Chief Gulsby and Mayor LeJeune presented Police Department promotions to Sergeant  Lyon, Apparatus Engineer Cameron Boyington and Apparatus Engineer Kyle Ard.  Joshua Reeves and Sergeant Heith Brown. APPROVALOE MINUTES:  3. 4.  The minutes from the May 20, 2024 regular meeting were approved.  REPORT OF STANDING COMMITTEES:  A. FINANCE COMMITTEE  Councilwoman Phillips said the minutes from the May 20th meeting arei ini the packet gave the Treasurer's Report for April 2024: Unrestricted Fund Balanee-s26,513,517;7 Total Cash Balance-549,373,366; Sales tax for March 2024 -$2,424,359; Lodging Tax for March 2024-$152,833; Debt Summary for April 2024: Warrants-  $31,763,902; Capital Leases: General Fund-$524,980; Enterprise Fund -$551,268. Councilwoman Phillips said the next meeting is June 17th at 4:30pm.  MOTION by Councilwoman Phillips to approve a temporary Patrol Office position due to extended  Military leave with no additional funding needed. No second was needed.  MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY.  B. BUILDINGS & PROPERTY COMMITTEE C. PUBLIC SAFETY COMMITTEE  Councilman Goodlin said the next meeting is. June 10th at 5:15pm. Councilman Hughes said the next meeting is June 10th at 4:30pm. D. Curt Fonger, 1443 Randall Avenue, said the. Jubilee Pickleball Club donated $1,000 to the new Animal  Shelter.  Public participation closed at 6:24pm. MAYOR'S REPORT:  7.  Mayor LeJeune said it was great to recognize promotions in the meetings. He said the City received a $160,000 Federal Grant for safe roads and streets. last days of school are this week and he spoke about the recent high school graduations. He said a few oft them recently did a walk through at the new: animal shelter.  8.  CITY ATTORNEY: REPORT: City Attorney said there was no report. DEPARTMENT HEAD COMMENTS:  Chief Gulsby, Police, said E-Shore Café has offered to cohost an event titled "Ice Cream with the Kids" to be ChiefTacon,' Fire, thanked the Council fori recognizing the promotions at the meeting and said there are currently Ange Baggett, Marketing, said they have wrapped up on graduations and recitals at the Civic Center and shared Emmie Powell, Library, said the Summer Reading Program kicked offv with 500 people and updated the Council Ronnie Huskey, Public Works, said they are addressing the concerns about mosquitoes. He thanked the Public Charlie McDavid, Recreation, said there was a baseball tournament the last weekend and the turf that was Troy Strunk, City Development, reminded everyone starting tomorrow there will be a road closure on County Kent Ward, Junior City Council, said the interviews for the 2024-2025 Junior Council will begin this week. City Clerk commended.
