The Council of the City of Creola, Alabama, met in the Creola Senior building at 5:30 p.m. A workshop was held before the Council Meeting. Present at the meeting was Mayor Nelson, Mark Items that were discussed were the American Rescue Plan Act - Projects, Building Inspector request, Coffee and Cola Dates, Veterans Sign, Playground Grant, Ellison Ave Speed Limit, Exit 22 /Big Trucks, Police Uniforms, Firearms Instructor Recertification, and Police Car decals. The The regular council meeting was called to order by Mayor Nelson at 6:00 p.m. We were led in Roll call was taken by City Clerk Marcy Brown. Present at the meeting was Mayor Nelson, Mark Howell, Wendy Lynch, Harold Parmer, and Cody Chambless. Kendal Hadaway was absent. Buddy Lowe was present at the meeting and expressed concerns for the ATV's that was continuing to run up and down South Bentley. Mayor Nelson stated that signs would be ordered Howell, Wendy Lynch, Harold Parmer, and Cody Chambless. meeting was adjourned at 5:58 p.m. prayer by James Brown. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Mayor Nelson. Also present was City Attorney, Daniel Mims. and installed soon. Item #5 -Approval of the Minutes- Approval of the Minutes - The minutes of the September 23, 2021, regular meeting minutes were: reviewed. A motion was made by Mr. Chambless to accept the minutes, as written, with the correction of a name change on a motion. The motion was seconded by Mr. Howell. All in favor and the motion was carried. Item #6- Financials/Bill List- Mayor Nelson went over the bill list as well as the city financials. Mr. Chambless made a motion to approve the bill list as presented. Mr. Howell seconded the motion. Departmental Reports- = Police Dept. Chief Hammond stated that 500 rounds of ammo was needed for the fire instructor class to be held November 1-2, 2021. Mr. Howell made a motion to purchase the ammo needed for the firearms instructor class. Mr. Parmer seconded the motion. All in favor and the motion was Mr. Howell made a motion to approve the purchase of decals for the police car at a cost of $450. After discussion on police uniforms, Mr. Howell made a motion to purchase police uniforms at a cost up to $500 per officer for three (3) sets. Mr. Parmer seconded the motion. All in favor and Fire Dept. - Fire Chief Moye has added three new fire members added to the department. He is supposed to have a representative from a company that sells fire engines to attend the next meeting. Chief Moye made a request for some AED's to be purchased out of the American Public Works Department - There has been talk to a potential new employee for the Public Mr. Howell made a motion that all employees must have a driver's license, and this will be in effect beginning January 1, 2022.Mr. Chambless seconded the motion. We received a $15,000 from GulfCoast RC&D with the remaining $13,495.97 to be paid by the city. The playground equipment is on the State bid list. Ms. Lynch seconded the motion. All in favor f.
