MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY OF TUSCUMBIA  REGULAR SCHEDULED MEETING HELD ON OCTOBER. 5, 2015  The Tuscumbia City Council met on October 5, 2015 with Billy Shoemaker, Mayor and Council Members Randall Davis, Richard Coates, Martha Smith, and Robert Mitchell. George Johnson was not available. Tom Heflin, City Attorney; Kimberly Cole, Administrative Assistant and Department Heads Joel Kendrick, David Cole, Hugh Stanley and Luster Echols were also present, Mayor Billy Shoemaker called the regular scheduled meeting to order @ 5:00 p.m. Invocation was provided by Randall Davis, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance that was led by Robert Council Member Coates made al motion to adopt the Minutes of September 21, 2015 (Regular  Mitchell.  Scheduled Meeting); seconded by Council Member Smith. Motion Carried.  REPORTS FOR BOARDS  The Civil Service Board met on October 1, 2015 to complete theiri interviews for three labor positions in the Parks and Recreation Department. The board hired Christopher Bracken, Alan Lester and Michael Rackley. Employment will begin immediately) following their drug tests  and health. screenings. BUSINESS  Council Member Smith made the motion to declare a vacancy for a Dispatcher ini the Police Department due to the resignation ofLashara Cheatom; seconded by Council Member  Mitchell. Motion Carried.  OTHER  Council Members Davis and Mitchell spoke on the potential properties for new businesses. Kelly Taft is working on that task which isi mostly completed.  With no further business Council Member Davis made a motion to adjourn at 5:53 p.m.;  seconded by Council Member Smith. Motion Carried.
