Mayor Alexander read the Mission Statement: "Thel Mission of the City of Fort Stockton Municipal Government is tol Promote & Value Public Confidence and Trust by the Accountable and Responsible Use ofCommunity Resources; to Ensure Public Safety; Improve Public Services; Promote Local Recreation and Entertainment; and Generate Economic Development." SPECIAL BUSINESS: 1. Discuss/Act upon Approval of$138,600.00 payment from Fort Stockton Economic Development 4-A Corporation to T. Ingram Company for Repairs to the Interior and Exterior ofthe Historic Property known as the Grey Mule Saloon. (City Mgr./EDC Dir.) Economic Development Corporation (EDC) Executive Director Remie Ramos explained this expenditure was previously approved by the Fort Stockton Economic Development 4-A Corporation to repair the interior and exterior oft this facility. This will minimize any further deterioration. There are cracks int the adobe and stucco of the westside of the building. There is a section on the southeast corner of the building where the stucco has come off due to the moisture retained in the flower beds. There is a section where the gutters have separated. Retaining water ini the sidewalk has caused the front doorj jamb to rot out. The current drainage system isa al" line that drains into the curb line; therefore, the water will not drain ift there is a significant amount. This project would entail removing all oft the planters and sidewalks, repairing all oft the stucco all the way down to the original line, installing a Page 1206 new sidewalk that would drain into the parking lot, sloping the parking lot towards the drainage canal. In addition, the gutters would be replaced. The interior stucco would be repaired where needed. This property is an Economic Development Corporation property. Photos have been taken to see ifany of the cost could be recouped from the TML insurance coverage. Council Member Palileo inquired about a estimated completion time. EDC Executive Director Ramos responded it should be completed within 6-8 weeks. Council Member Falcon inquired ifTom Ingram is certified to work on historical buildings. EDC Executive Director Ramos confirmed that Tom Ingram is certified to work on historical buildings. Furthermore, it was verified with the State Historical Landmark Commission that the planters and sidewalks do not require the Historical Motion was made by Council Member Pam Palileo, seconded by Council Member James Warnock, and carried unanimously to approve $138,600.00 payment from Fort Stockton Economic Development 4-A Corporation to T.I Ingram Company for Repairs to the Interior and Exterior of the Historic Property known as the Grey Mule Saloon.
