CITY OF EMORY MINUTES FORTHE: REGULAR CITYCOUNCIL MEETING HELD ON OCTOBER 8, 2024  The City Council of Emory met on the 8th day of OCTOBER 2024 at 7:00 pm a Regular City Council Meeting with the following members present: Mayor Earl Hill III, Mayor ProTem Blake Cooper, Lori Honeycutt,Jannie Stephens and' Travis Potts, Others present: Allen and Rachelle Jones, Katelyn Green, Dennis Threadgill, Lynette Lennon, Finance, / HR Clerk Eileen Mickey, Interim City Administrator Samantha Gibby, Interim Chief of Emory Police Department. Andy  Chester, Public Works Director Blake Brumit, City Secretary Donna Raper.  Meeting called to order by Mayor Earl Hill III 7:00 pm  Invocation and Pledges given by. Jannie Stephens approving  the minutes of the September 10, 2024, and September: 26, 2024, Workshop and Special City Council meetings and thep payment oft thel bills. Motion  carried unanimously.  Items for Consideration and/ orA Action  A. Departmental Updates: Samantha Gibby gave Sam Edwards a' Thank you: for removing some stumps from the City Cemetery and City Parks. Samantha Gibby gave the Council B. Motion madel by Blake Cooper seconded by Lori Honeycut approved a variance to Lynnette Lennon for 219' Tawakoni Drive on a minimum side yard setback of5f ft. for C. No action taken on approving plate for Emory Baptist Church for the propertyl ylocated at D. No action taken on approving institutional district dimensional requirements on the E. Motion made by Lori Honeycutt seconded by Blake Cooper approving a plat for Jessie Shearer fori thej property located at 299 N. Wood Street (Shearer Place on Wood St.).  an update on several different items.  one year. Motion made by Blake Cooper seconded by Lori Honeycutt approving a variance for the sale/consumption of alcohol at Founder's Day Festival and Concerti to bel hosted by City of Emory Tourism tol bel held May 3, 2025, at Sandy Creek Park. Motion carried H. Motion made by Blake Cooper seconded by Travis Potts to approve an Ordinance (Ordinance No. 9-2024) designated bulk water fillinglocation. Motion carried I.
