Discussion shall bel limited to evaluation of current budget and of items pertinent to establishing the budget for the City of Bevil Oaks for fiscal year 2023-2024. The City will receive input from private persons and entities including but not limited to its engineering firm, legal counsel, accountant,  personnel with specifici information related to the proposed budget.  Skipped to tax rate  6. - Review/Approve. Action Items  a. Consideration/Diseussion/Approyal of options for tax rate per truth-in-taxation requirements. Approve proposed tax rate for consideration and comment by public at hearing prior to approval oftax Charlotte- States that the tax rate needs to be placed on the budget, so that is why we are doing the tax ratel before the budget. States that the no new revenue rate is what has always been chosen in thej past. States that thet taxes is revenue for the City operating. States that the tax rate comes from the prior 3-years of rates and calculate what the unused revenue is. States that the City has 3 options to choose from for the tax rate. 125141/S100 with an income of$115,373, .153260/S100 with an income of$141,297, and. .130980 with an income of$120,756. Councilman Thibodeaux- How many years has it been the no-new revenue? Charlotte- The City has aways went with the no newi revenue since she has been with the City and the difference in the no new revenue rate and the voter approval rate were not that much Councilman Wright- to keep the revenue the same, we would choose the no new revenue rate? Councilman Wright- Asksi ifit can bel kept at the same rate that we currently have? Charlotte- Starts going over budget.  Councilman Merendino- States that the franchise money hasn't been transferred into the road Charlotte- States that the transfers will be made before year end. Continues to go over budget. Asks if Council wanted to raise the income for the Civic Center rental? Councilman Merendino- Does the City make income offthe rental?  account, right?    Sabrenna Crain- Yes. Wej paid Charlie (Public Maintenance Employee) to clean, tear down, Charlotte- continues to go over budget. States that the attorney fees are in two different spots because one is general fees and the other is for ordinance enforcement. Continues to go over  and set up fee. The City makes about $400 offofa $500 rental.  budget.  Charlotte- asks ifthere is going to be an election this year?  Sabrenna Crain- Yes. bumping it up to $10,000.  Charlotte - asks how much it is for the election? It was $9,200 two years ago, sO suggests  Councilman Clayton- asks ifit is worth the $10,000. Sabrenna- States that there isn'tany other way to do an election. Charlotte- Continues to go over budget.  Councilman Merendino- Suggests increasing the budget for the street lights in lieu ofinflation costs being that the budget of $3,000 has been in place fora a few years. States that ifa street Councilman Watson- States that the areas that need to have new lights, will have to be new set Charlotte- States that there is $25,000 budgeted for ordinance violation notices Mayor Mitchell- States that the $25,000 includes sending notices out to the homeowners and Charlotte- States that the budget shows that it is in the negative due to the roof repairs that need to be made at the Civic Center.
