The Council heard from resident Gloria Levin (University Ave), who serves on the Board oft the Glen Echo Fire Department. She urged the Council to donate $2,000 to the GEFD, which is the same amount that the Town donates to the Glen Echo Park Partnership for Arts and Culture. Ini response to aj previous Council discussion about splitting the contribution between the Cabin John and the Glen Echo Fire Departments Ms. Levin stated that Cabin John Fire Department does not come across the one lane bridge and therefore does not often respond to calls in Glen Echo. She did not have data on how often each fire department responds to Town calls, as the data is kept by street name and not municipality. The 1 Council did not determine the final amount to donate specifically to GEFD but has set aside $2000 for GEPPAC and $1,000 total for fire departments, including possibly Cabin John and Glen Echo. The Council will obtain data on how often each fire department responds to calls in Glen Echo. The amount donated to each will be decided at a later Council Meeting.
