Mayor Polak called the meeting to order at 8:10 pm. APPROVAL OF MINUTES unanimously. LITTLE LIBRARY UPDATE Ar motion was made to approve the 4/9/2018 minutes as amended. The motion passed The little library is constructed and painted and ready tol be installed. The Council agreed on a June 9, 2018 unveiling at 10 am at the pocket park at thei intersection of Princeton and University. AI motion was made to approve $40 for plaque registering as a"Free Library." The motion was seconded and approved unanimously. INTRODUCTION OF ORDINANCE 18-041 TO ADOPT A BUDGET Motion made to introduce Ordinance 18-04, seconded, passed unanimously. OTHER BUSINESS Mayor Polak reported hei is in discussions with PEPCO and FEMA about disaster planning and the possibility of the agencies funding a generator for the Town Hall. PUBLICI HEARING ON ORDINANCES 18-01 AND 18-02 be discussed separately at a hearing on May 17. This public hearing excludes any discussion of Article 6, referring to animal control, which will Couuncimember Stiglitz reported the Town did not receive any' written comments from residents. He did meet with resident Renny Springuel, who had suggestions for changes. Section 17.2 Permit Required INTRODUCTION OF RESOLUTION 18-03 TO LEVYTAXES Motion made by Councilmember Stiglitz to propose al Real Property Tax rate @ $0.15/$100 revenues. Motion seconded and passed unanimously. There will be a public hearing on the budget in the Town Hall on May 23, 2018, priort to adoption oft the budget. APPROVAL TOHIRE NEW CLERK-TREASURER Tara Sheridan, applicant to be the new Clerk-Treasurer was present at the meeting. Councilmember Stiglitz said he has met her, shel has been recommended for the position by the mayor, and she seems qualified and capable. Councilmember Stiglitz made a motion to vote in favor of bringing Ms. Sheridan on as Clerk-Treasurer. The motion was seconded and passed unanimously. JULY PICNIC The Council set the date for the July picnic to be. July 22, 2018 from 5-8 pm. STOP SIGNS Renny Springuel reported the sidewalk and street committee made recommendations for additional stop signs on University at Bryn Mawr and Yale to cut back on speeding of Post Office Councilmember Spealman asked ifi it would be beneficial to commission a report from a traffic Mr. Springuel recommended waiting until next month to vote, after an article is placed int the Town. Attorney Bolt commented that any additional stop signs will affect on-street parking. County law stipulates no parking within 351 feet of curb lines and: state lawi forbids any parking closer than 301 feet from a stop sign.
