OFFICE OF THE TOWN MANAGER MONTHLY MANAGERS REPORT TOWN OF FAIRMOUNT HEIGHTS, MARYLAND MEMORANDUM September 30, 2024 FROM: SUBJECT: Doris' Manager ikn Town Manager's Report for period ending September 30, 2024 Below, please find my report for the above referenced period. ADMINISTRATION There are no job vacancies during this period. Bulk trash pick-up is scheduled for October 16, 2024. Pepco will be in town for an onsite visit on October 71 from noon to 2:00 pm. They will tour the Net Zero Housing site, Market Circle-K Street, and the charging station, and to introduce the new Pepco The 90th Anniversary meet on September 26, 2024. PUBLICWORKS Mr. Cradle, Public Works Supervisor reports the following: the county recycling website for other changes. Note: Reminder/ Prince George's Countyrecycling is now scheduled for Monday pick-up. Please see Grass cutting program for senior citizens may continue as the temperature remain above 70 degrees; All staff participated in the Bicycle Rodeo held on September 21, 2024; Staff attended the Green Team meeting held on September 26, 2024; Repaint and number the storm drains and curb cuts throughout the town; New/Creating official zone location throughout the town. The KS Street/Market Circle Alley Enhancement Project. (FHCDC Update) Stripped and waxed the down stairs banquet hall; The alley was paved, solar lights installed. The FHCDC funded the solar lights. The FH CDC is awaiting to install two concrete planters at each end oft the alley (Addison Road and Market Circle). They will be delivered during the month of October and PWs will assist with the installation, IS submitted the narrative and documents to Southwell Corporation for two metal photo plagues and one historic marker like the 19 that already exist throughout the town. (See pictures attached). 1 ECONOMIC AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT On August 13, 2024, I held my first meeting with Pastor Milton Holt of New Abundant Lifel Missionary Baptist Church formerly Metropolitan Methodist Church. The church was built in 1911 and is classified asal historic site. Reverend Holt is requesting assistance with the restoration of the church through Prince George's County Historic Preservation Commission. On September 18, 2024, Mr. Pinkney andI meet with Reverent Holt, Thomas Gross County Planner, Kacy Kohn, of Park and Planning to discuss funding and upgrading the church, Is suggested that Park and Planning request an engineering study to conduct a structural assessment. For the next meeting, we will invite Daniel Tanner, Grants Coordinator for Park and Planning to discuss non-capital grants and the feasibility study for parking at the site. On Tuesday September 24, 2024, Mrs. Jam Kendricks and members of the Clean Water Partnership met with Mr. Pinkney and land toured several standing water areas throughout the town. The areas included the Net Zero Project site and 815 Avenue property owned by Mr. Fox. 2 FAIRMOUN GREEN TEAM green life EN MEANS s Net Zero Housing /Housing Initiative Partnership (HIP). Warren Builders erected six homes. The Interior work will be continuing that include the insultation of duct work and HVAC. Individual driveways are being installed. Earliest possible date for completion was moved upi to November 1, 2024. Landscaping and streetscapes will start this monthly. Iwill continue to work with HIP and others to start planning the ribbon cutting ceremony. HIP will be contact Governor Wes Moore and others. HIP will maintain the vacant Jost Street lot while planning for construction. Construction date will be announced. Report on the DOE Project DoE contractors monitored the trees that were planted at the ravine and at town hall. During the drought and extreme temperatures a few of the trees died. DOE will replace all dead the trees during the month of October and November. Irequested an additional 9 trees to be planted at the Veterans Memorial Historic Site. SUSTAINABLE MARYLAND CERTIFCATION- Mike Hunninghake, Director of Sustainable Maryland, and his assistant Liv Pearce assisted me with the final submissions. The final submission was completed on Monday, September 30, 2024.
