Business: Callahan Volunteer Fire Department Request for Bunker Gear Callahan Volunteer Fire Chief- Christopher (Chris) Wood-44164 Charwood Drive Callahan, Florida 32011 have three sets still in date. $24,676.86 at the fair this year. discount of $1,042.00. lam asking the council for new bunker gear the cost for 11 sets will be $29,686.00.1 Whenlstarted, Ihad four volunteers and now we are up too twelve. We raised Retail price on the bunker gear is $3,833.53 for the set however we would receive a Mrs. Fleming asked if any of the 12 volunteers are certified this Saturday. All aret taking Fire 1fort the written/test portion. Mrs. Fleming asked if the bunker gear was required to finish training Mr. Wood stated that yes, the volunteers must have in date bunker gear to finish training. The practical isi in April, and we need the bunker gear by then. Mrs. Bishop-Vargas asked if grants can be used to purchase bunker gear. Mr. Wood stated yes, and we have started the grant process. Mr. Wood stated that we are int the process of training now. We have a class coming up A consensus from the council to postpone buying the bunker gear right now to see if we can get the grant funding to purchase the gear and if not revisit the purchase of the bunker gear closer to April. Everything went very well. Last week I, Mr. Williams, and Mrs. Bishop-Vargas went to a workshop at Hilliard Town Hall for the 2050 Vision. believe the county is coming tot the next meeting to discuss.
