The Millbrae City Council acknowledges that we occupy the unceded ancestral, traditional, and contemporary homeland of the Ramaytush Ohlone peoples, who are the original inhabitants of the San Francisco Peninsula. We wish to pay our respects to the. Ancestors and Relatives oft the Ramaytush Community and to affirm their sovereign rights as First Peoples. We recognize that the Ramaytush Ohlone have lived in harmony with nature for millennia, and that to achieve a truly ecologically sustainable future for Millbrae, we must embrace Indigenous traditional ecological knowledge in how we care for the city's lands, waters, and all its people. We will continue to uplift and foster a meaningful relationship with the Ramaytush Ohlone community, and we encourage all to visit  www.ramaytush.org to learn more about the Ramaytush Ohlone people. ACTION  NEW BUSINESS 2.  Video Time: 5:17  Nomination and Election of Vice Mayor- ACTION City Manager Tom Williams presented the report. There was no public comment regarding this item.  Motion by Schneider/Papan to appoint Councilmember Gina Papan to the Office of Vice Mayor. Motion  carried 3-01 by roll call vote.  City Clerk Elaine Tran administered the Oath ofOffice to Vice Mayor Gina Papan.    464CITY COUNCIL 3.  August 27,2024  Review and Approval of Council Communication to San Mateo County Board of Supervisors requesting County withdraw offer to Purchase of La Quinta Inn & Suites for Permanent Supportive  Housing-ACTION  Video Time: 9:45  City Manager Tom Williams presented the report. The Council asked questions of Staff.  The following members oft the public spoke regarding this item:  Dan Stegink  Motion by Schneider/Papan to approve Council Communication to San Mateo County Board of Supervisors requesting the County withdraw offer to purchase of La Quinta Inn & Suites for Permanent Supportive Housing with additional language as stated by the City Manager. Motion carried 3-01 by roll call Discussion and Direction on Filling Vacancies in the City Council District 2 and District 4 Seats -  vote. ACTION  4.
