Minutes Spruce Pine' Town Council October 11,2024  An emergency meeting oft the Spruce Pine Town Council was held on October 11, 2024. Present were Mayor Phillip Hise and Council Members Rocky Buchanan, Jackiel Rensink, and' Wayne Peight. Staffi in attendance included Darlene Butler, Brooke Peterson, and' Travis Phillips. Also attending was. Richard Canipe.  CALLTOORDER INVOCATON ANDI PLEDGE DISCUSSION  Mayor Phillip Hise called the emergency meeting to order at: 3:00 P.M. Rocky Buchanan gave thei invocation. Wayne Peight led thel Pledge of Allegiance.  Mayor Phillip Hise opened the meeting. Richard Canipe discussed the sewer plant issues and the extensive meeting with the Army Core of Engineers on Thursday October 10,2024. His suggestion was getting a plan ofa action in place and have the contract for Withers Ravenel for preparing portable sewer treatment options ready by the regular town council meeting on Monday - October 14, 2024. The council discussed how portable plants operate and The council discussed the current equipment and needed repairs at the water plant. Public Works Director' Travis Phillips noted Wake Forest Fire Department checked thei intake and everything looked good. The council noted there Council member Wayne Peight discussed a Culligan representative is currently in the: area to provide filtered potable water, especially for the large quantity customers (hospital, The Greens, etc.)" The council discussed. several ofthe  finding available units.  are available resources all over the state andi in East Tennessee.  holding tanks and valves throughout the system.
