The meeting was held at the Bermuda Run Town Hall.  JeffTedder  Council Members Absent: Also Present:  Andrew Meadwell, Town Manager; Cindy Poe, Town Clerk; and Brian  Williams, Town Attorney  Call to Order Mayor Mike Brannon called the meeting to order and recognized the Quorum. Hartman  Sheriff Hartman spoke of the additional equipment purchased (with the assistance oft the Town  of Bermuda Run) for the safety oft the area.    Action Items  A. Bermuda Run Vision Committee - Appoint Christy Schafer as Town Council Council Member Mike Ernst made a motion to appoint Christy Schafer as the Town Council Representative (replacing former Council. Member Melinda Szeliga). Council Member JeffTedder seconded. the motion. The motion was approved by a vote offour (4) inj favor andi none opposed. Staffi recommends action to allow the Town Manager and Town Attorney to negotiate and finalize-execute an agreement with Blakely Landscaping Services, Inc., who was the "lowest Council Member Rae Nelson made a motion to approve the proposed action as presented. Council Member Christy Schafer seconded the motion. The motion was approved by a vote offour (4) infavor Town Manager Comments - Leaf pickup planned to begin the first part ofl November. With no business to discuss and with early voting going on at Town Hall, the Planning Board Meeting and the Council Agenda Meetings in October have been cancelled. Flag poles at the project near WinMock are up. Phase II oft the Kinderton sidewalk plan is complete. The paving project is ongoing. Mayor Comments - Early Voting begins on October 17. Thanked speakers and all attendees. Thanked local businesses and emergency personnel for their support to Western NC after Hurricane Helene. Mentioned the recent passing of former Council Member Jerry West and Ms. Kathryn Crosby. Food Truck Friday has been rescheduled for 10/18 in celebration oft the Town's 25th Anniversary. The North Tower Band concert on 9/28 was a success and thanked] Lowes Foods for their donations of snacks in honor oft the anniversary celebration. Upcoming concerts in October have a new start time of 6j pm - Special Occasion Band 10/12 and Envision on 10/26. Bermuda Run Garden Club's Shredding Event on 10/199 am-Noon. Recent ribbon cutting at Tanglewood Chiropractic. Pedestrian pathway at Bermuda Run East. Davie Respect Initiative scheduled to present at the November Council Meeting. Approved  Respectfully Submitted  Mike Brannon, Mayor  Cindy Poe, Town Clerk    TEM A  State ofNorth Carolina County of] Davie  Addendum  On November 22, 2022, Bermuda Run (The Town) and the Davie County Sheriff's Office (DCSO) entered into an agreement for the DCSO toj provide additional Law Enforcement  services through a community officer assigned to The Town. The agreement is for a term of five years from November 22, 2022.  The Town desires to add funding for additional Law Enforcement equipment that DCSO will use inside the corporate limits ofThe Town. Therefore, The' Town will add $15,000.00 to the original The Town agrees toj pay a one-time payment to the DCSO after being invoiced for the equipment in 2024. The Town agrees to reimburse the DCSO within 15 days ofbeing invoiced. The Town and DCSO agree that after the initial operational startup of this additional equipment that future costs will be reimbursed under section IV oft the original Agreement. It is also agreed that this addendum becomes aj part oft the original agreement and subject to the same provisions  agreement beginning in 2024 and each year oft the contract thereafter.  contained in that agreement. Davie County Sheriff's Office  By:  Date:  Town of Bermuda Run  By:  Date:    ITEM B  RESOLUTION  ACCEPTING STREETS INTO THE PUBLIC STREET SYSTEM  OF THETOWN OF BERMUDA RUN  WHEREAS, the Hillsdale Group, LLCI has at the request of the Town of] Bermuda Run, dedicated tot the Town the right ofway oft the northern unnamed street described ini its dedication instrument and as set forth in Exhibit. A attached hereto (referred to as the "Street");  WHEREAS, the Town is satisfied that the Street has been constructed in accordance with WHEREAS, the dedication instrument applies only toj paved surfaces within thel boundary WHEREAS, the Town desires (i) to accept the Street into its street system to provide for uniformity of maintenance and street lighting and (ii) to have the easement rights set out in the dedication instrument which include easements to install utilities within the paved portion oft the Street, an easement to maintain streetlights abutting the Street and all rights set forth in NCGS  standards meeting the requirements ofthe' Town; oft the Street and does noti include parking areas;  160A-296 (collectively the "Easement Rights"); and  WHEREAS, it is ini the interest oft the Town and its citizens that the Street be incorporated into the street and road system oft the Town of] Bermuda Run together with  the Easement Rights.  NOWTHEREPORE, bei it resolved that rights of way oft the unnamed Street known and described in Exhibit. A attached hereto be accepted into the public street system of the Town of Bermuda Run and that the Town of] Bermuda Run immediately assume the public maintenance and begin to exercise the Easement Rights as necessary from time to time to further the public  interest.
