Minutes City Council Meeting August 12th, 2024 6:30pm  Baldwin Courtroom, 155 Willingham Avenue, Baldwin, GA 30511  Mayor Stephanie Almagno, Council member Erik Keith, Council member Kerri Davis, Council member Maarten Venter, and Council member Alice Venter were all in attendance.  Call Meeting to Order Invocation and Pledge  Mayor Almagno called the meeting to order at 6:30 pm.  McKenna, Kate, and Josie Waters led the Pledge of Allegiance.  Mayor Almagno listed all those present for the meeting.  Action: AI motion was made by Maarten Venter to amend the agenda by tabling the "Police Department Commendation" and Consideraton/Approval of Sangoma Phones Contract" to afuture meeting and adding an Executive Session for Land. Acquisition and Disposal with a  second by Erik Keith. Motion Carried 4-0. Palice-Deparimenteme-Commendation  ConsentAgenda  a. Approval of Minutes: Council Meeting 7/29/24.  Council had no questions or comments regarding the consent agenda.  Action: A motion was made by Alice Venter to approve the consent agenda as presented  with a second by Kerri Davis. Consideration/Approal of Fire Department Bay Door Replacement  CAO Emily' Woodmaster presented a request to replace the main bay door at the Fire Department that gets used the most frequently. Many attempts to repair the door have been made to repair the door, but it is officially beyond repair. The tracks for the door As this is an unexpected expense, Chief Roy has made some budget amendment requests to accommodate the purchase and to not request additional funds. The total  are pushing into the windows and breaking the glass. Motion Carried 4-0.  2. consideraton/Approva. of Surplus List  Public Works Department Scott Barnhart presented a request to surplus several used vehicles that have been replaced and equipment that is out of service. Barnhart expects to bring in approximately $20,000 from surplus sales and requested that the funds be earmarked for site improvements at the new Public Works building. Action: Ar motion was made by Maarten Venter to authorize the sale ofs surplus items listed and to earmark the fundsi for Public' Works site improvements with a second by  Kerri Davis. Executive Session  Land Acquisition and Disposal  Action: A motion was made by Maarten' Venter to close the regular session and move into executive session for land acquisition and disposal with a second by Erik Keith. Action: AI motion was made by Alice Venter to reenter the regular session from executive session and to authorize the execution oft the affidavit for an executive session for land acquisition and disposal during which land acquisition and disposal were discussed and noi action was taken with a second by Kerri Davis.
