City of] Donalsonville Called Council Meeting-October 18, 2024 Official Minutes  Mayor Ron Johnson, Jr. called the Called Council Meeting to order at 5:00 PMi in the Council Chambers at City Hall. After which Mayor Ron. Johnson, Jr. gave thei invocation, then all joined in the Pledge of Allegiance to the United States of America. Councilmembers present at the meeting included Mayor Ron Johnson, Jr., Mayor Pro Tem Ed Bond, CPI Mitch Blanks, CP Mitzy Moye, CPI Flossie Smith, CPI Lindsay Register, and CP Travis Brooks. Staff present were City Manager Approval of the Agenda: Mayor Pro Tem Bond made a motion to approve the Agenda, with CP  Jeffrey Hatcher and City Clerk Christina Corvers.  Smith seconding. Motion carried.  NEW BUSINESS  NEW BUSINESS: City Manager Hatcher recommended the adoption of Resolution 10-18-24, providing for the adoption of the ad valorem tax rollback rate of17.292 mills. City Manager Hatcher stated that the proposed rollback rate of17.292 consists ofa revenue growth of 8.40% due toi increased property values. After some discussion, CP Smith made a motion to adopt Resolution 10-18-24, providing for the adoption of the ad valorem tax rollback rate of 17.292 mills. CP Register seconded; Next, City Manager Hatcher stated that the Mayor and Council would need to hold a Called Meeting to discuss pending litigation. After some discussion, Mayor Johnson scheduled a Called Meeting for Mayor Johnson then requested that the regular November Council Meeting be rescheduled due to prior commitments and the fact that it falls on election night. After some discussion, all were in favor of rescheduling the regular November Council Meeting from Tuesday, November 5, 2024, at 6:00 PM to Lastly, City Manager Hatcher informed the Mayor and Council that the next City and County Joint Work Session will be held on' Thursday, November 14,2024, at 6:00 PMI located in the Beall Center. With there being no further business to come before the Mayor and Council, at 5:09 PM, CP Blanks made ai motion to adjourn, with CP Brooks making a second; and the motion carried.  motion passed.  Thursday, October 24, 2024, at 6:001 PM to discuss pending litigation.  Monday, November 4, 2024, at 6:00 PM.
