The Carl Junction City Council met in regular session on. Tuesday October 15, 2024 at 7:00 PM at City Hall. Mayor Mark Powers called the meeting to order with thei following present: LaDonna Allen, Rick Flinn, Hollie LaVigne, Bobl McAfee, David Pyle, and Roger Spencer. Walter Hayes and Carole Wofford were absent. Also present were City Administrator Steve Lawver, City Attorney Mike Talley, City Clerk Alaina Wright and City Administrator. AGENDA Roger Spencer said the agenda needed to be amended by removing item six-Discussion ofl MOU with Carl Junction R-1 Schools for school resource officer and item seven (b)-Ordinance approving MOU with Carl Junction R-1 Schools for school resource officer. LaDonna Allen motioned to put "AN ORDINANCE APPROVING AN INTERCOVERNMENTAL POLICE PROTECTION MUTUAL AID AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF CARL JUNCTION, MISSOURI AND THE CITY OF CARTERVILLE, MISSOURITO PROVIDE MUTUAL AID FORI POLICE SERVICES PURSUANT TO RSMO SECTION 70.820 (2000); PROVIDING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS THEREOF; AND AUTHORIZING THE CHIEF OF POLICE TO EXECUTE SAID AGREEMENT FOR AND ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF CARL JUNCTION, MISSOURI" on first reading by title only. REPORTS Long-Term Project report- - Steve Lawver said posts were going in this week for the fence for the dog park. Police Dept. report - Chief McCall said the car show happened this last weekend and raised almost $1000 for Shop withaCop. Rick Flinn asked ift there was a date for Shop with a Cop and Chief McCall said he thought it was December 14th. Treasurer's report - No discussion. Public Works report - No discussion. COMMITTEE REPORTS Budget/Finance: LaDonna Allen had nothing to report. Code/ Nuisance: Rick Flinn set a committee meeting for November 5 at 6:301 PM. Human Resources: Roger Spencer had nothing to report. Public Facilities & Planning: David Pyle had nothing to report. Economic Development: Hollie LaVigne had nothing to report. UNFINISHED BUSINESS NEW BUSINESS Mayor Powers said Optic Communications: is opening a new sign-up period that wille end in May. Rick] Flinn asked ift the splashpad was still open and Steve Lawver said yes. Rick Flinn said the fire protection district needs volunteers. LaDonna Allen said she and Steve Lawver attended the MML regional meeting today and Steve will be sending everyone the slides from the presentation. Steve Lawver said there have been discussions about thes services provided for Airport Drive. He said we spenda a lot oft time providing those services for Airport Drive and he feels the council should consider stopping those services to Airport Drive.
