Invocation was led by Board Member Houston.  3.1 Pledge of Allegiance to the U.S.A. Flag and Texas Pledge led by President Hill.  4. PUBLIC COMMENTS: There were no comments made. Consider approval of minutes from the Park and Events meeting held on June 27, Board Member Houston moved to approve the minutes for the Park and Events Board  2024 as presented.  Meeting held June 27, 2024, as presented. Board Member Yeandle seconded the motion.  Motion carried - all ayes.  B. Receive updates on Park Grant and identify the use ofgrant funds.  Presented by Katherine Reading, City Manager  Kristen, Public Management Grant Administrator was on hand to answer any  questions.  Discussions to surface the park area Dor not have to go out for bids In-Kind work as contribution of grant Focus on grant (surfacing) Work on: replacing the structure  Engineered Fiber Wood (EFW) instead of] Pour in Place (PIP)  Will heat on the surface be an issue? - Kristen will ask about the temperature ofit. Will we be able to remove the structures easily with this project, yes with EWF.  Recommendation by Vice Chair Maxfield to take to City Council is surfacing of play area,  Board Member Samuels seconded the motion.  C.D Discuss and Consider establishing activities for events: Veterans Parade, Easter  Celebration, and Heritage Day, in FY24-25.  November 9, 2024, Veteran's Parade (no vendors). The parade starts at 10:00 AM. April 12, 2025, Easter Celebration suggested time 10. AM- - 1:00 PM October 12, 2024, Heritage Day permits (no fee's) through Farmers Market Representative, suggested time 10. AM- 2:00 PM with the parade beginning at 10:00  Suggestion to line up at 9:00. AM.  AM. Plaza.  D. Discuss and consider volunteer participation concerning the Veteran's Memorial  Park and Events Board Meeting Minutes, August 29, 2024    Private property Sprinklers are destroyed Lights are destroyed  Needs flags for every branch ofs service (up to the property owner) Board Member Rydell to help coordinate volunteers  Ask the City Council ifthey wish to take on the piece of land, no negotiations.  Board Member Samuel'sI made a motion to approve volunteer participation concerning the Veteran's  Memorial Plaza. Motion failed.  Further discussions needed. 6.ADJOURN MEETING:  President Hill adjourned the meeting at 8:21 pm. Vice President Maxfield seconded the motion.
