MINUTES BLECTORAL BOARD MEETING 70CTOBER, 2024 Chair Coffey called the meeting to order at 10:00. AM on October 7, 2024. Members Present: Coffey, Wellard, Doyle Guest Present: GR McDonald Vice Chair Wellard moved approval oft the minutes of the September 9, 2024 meeting. Motion seconded by Secretary Doyle, carried unanimously. GR McDonald presented her report, attached. The schedule for training Election Officials was reviewed as follows: Monday, October 7@ 2:00 pm and 6:00pm; Wednesday, October 16th @ 2:00 pm and 6:00 pm. Chiefand. Assistant Chiefs will be trained the week of October 21st. L&ATesting will be October 21s @ 9:00 am The process for conducting the required Risk Limiting Audit was discussed. The next meetings will be Canvass on. November Sth, November 6th, November gth and November 11"beginning @ 1:00 pm each day. There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 11:15 am. McDonald, GR TO: SCEB Shenandoah County Electoral Board): Allie Coffey, Gayle Wellard, & Denise Doyle Cc: minutes Registrar has attended association meetings, and webinars and trainings with the Virginia Department of Elections/ELECT and was asked by ELECT to participate in their Registrar spoke at the Shenandoah County Retired Teachers Association on Wednesday, Early Voting began Friday, September 20th, and has gone very smoothly. The first day of early voting we: saw 413 voters, and a steady flow of voters since. As of Friday, October Over: 1,000 absentee ballot packets were processed and mailed out timely on Friday, September 20th, plus 43 overseas; many ofi these voters have returned their ballots. Applications continue to be submitted for both voter registration and absentee ballots. Registrar has completed and submitted all surveys and certifications timely to ELECT. Onl Monday, September 16th, the Voting Equipment Tech completed L&A (Logic & Accuracy) Testing on CAP (Central Absentee Precinct) machines for early voting. The RPV (Republican Party of Virginia) has made a request to all Virginia Registrars for production of documents (three pages) overa a period oft three months, and the Registrar has submitted to them these public documents to them as requested. Registrar attended a Zoom meeting on Friday, October 4th, with the U.S. Postal Service who has plans for getting all absentee ballots returned and guaranteed that they would future trainings. September 11th regarding elections operations and security. 4th wel have had 2,350 in-person voters. take care ofc our mail in a timely manner. Future Planning: L&A (Logic & Accuracy) Testing for election day machines must be scheduled.
