Jeter Councilmember Marlon Rickman Mayor Harris called the. July 9, 2024, Council Meeting to order at 7:00 pm. This meeting was held int the Town Hall. Town Manager Earl Mathers took roll call. With five members of the Council present, a quorum was established. A moment of silence was held, and the Pledge of Allegiance was recited. The firsti item on the agenda was approval oft the consent agenda which included the approval of the June 2024 Financials and approval of paid bills. Vice Mayor Manspile made a motion to approve the consent agenda with a second from Councilmember Rickman. With no further discussion, the consent agenda was approved with a vote of5-0. The next item on the agenda was awards and recognitions. Councimember Eubank wanted to thank Sissy Austin, Marty Rickman, and all the volunteers for Vice Mayor Manspile wanted to thank the Gilliam brothers for the 21 fireworks shows. They Councilmember. Mayor Harris stated that the Town Council will go into closed session for the purpose of discussing matters exempted under the provisions of the Freedom of Information Act of the Code of Virginia section 2.2-3711 personnel matters.
