Still to the working on trying to get things done sO they can move down community building. Waiting on fire marshal to come and give the things. Diane got paperwork from Katie on things that she needs for the approval She for only have 15 people in one: room SO she is working on how to get the kids building. back into the can swing of things. Not happy about how the Town let Shirley Sharpless Diane felt town did her dirty the way they let her go. Wondering how that works go. for go. Robbie explained that it was in executive session SO we can not speak about letting it people but the council has to vote on it. Diane just thought since she put SO many years in she didn't yes see how the town could just say ok you are done. Tabitha Upton spoke that how the town let Shirley go and then Katie got an extra day and there has been shit up, on the mens bathroom toilet for 3 months. Katie explained to Tabitha that she has had that extra since fall of last year 2019 this is nothing new to her nor due to Shirley Katie said that my cleaning days are Tuesday it is not an office day, but being I clean the go. park bathrooms and the school. And Katie cleans the office everyday now that she is in the the let day office and her extra day. Barb Welch- Just wanted tol know about Shirley in the last Mike Brady spoke up and asked who has been to one of these meetings year? Maybe only 3 people on a regular base, ifyou would come to meeting then would know more about what is going on in this town and the decisions that you council makes. Carylon Coleman- Cleaning up after my dog, people are using my yard as their dogs toilet when I am gone. Is there any rules in the town for the animal? Robbie said just what the county goes by and the town does have al leash law. Her yard is full of poop can do to the people who are coming onto her property and letting their animals use the bathroom? Robbie said if you do that you should call and turn it into animal control, they are the ones who would have to take care ofit now. Better for a resident to call animal control to be able to talk to them and explain things better that is happening on their property. Becky said you must make sure you are calling not just talking around town about it, because nothing will be done ifyou don'tcall. Ifyou put cameras up and find out who it is and say something to that person first, then that would work and ifit does if she puts cameras is there anything the town when she comes up. She is wondering up not stop then go forward with contacting animal control. O We will put it in the newsletter for a reminder for people. and there are people who are parking there across road is. And for the speeding we can only hope people to slow down around that turn in front ofh her house on 3rds st? there. Robbie will investigate the people parking where the no parking Also how do we get people ano parking signs the in the grass and there is clearly will learn to slow down. Tabitha Upton- Asked about when was the last newsletter put out. Some people did not even know about the fireworks during that event. Katie explained she has not put a newsletter out since December 2019 because when Covid hit we stopped everything and there was no reason to send out ai newsletter when I was not in the office working nor anything going on besides canceling everything. And for the fireworks Ihad event posted on Facebook, flyers hanging at the post office, coal bucket, and outside town office door. Tabitha continue with asking about the office hours, shel knows of someone within the last two weeks trying to stop in the office and Katie was not there, they tried 4 times last week. Katie explained that her office is open Monday Wednesday and Friday 8:15-4:15 but she does get pulled to clean the park bathrooms everyday and sometimes gets pulled to the school, but she always has a note on1 the door. And she never received any phone calls or messages of someone trying to get ahold ofher. She will be putting a newsletter out this coming week, and the office hours will be in there. Grants: Sidewalk- complete done. Diane Paugh said what a wonderful job they did on them. They were clean and fast with everything. Everyone agreed Belt did a wonderful job. Volleyball- Shipment was on backorder should be getting shipped out with the next Ballfield- waiting to do dug outs since the grass is still growing like crazy the guys have week. not had time to do them. When that stops we will get them painted. Old Business: Fireworks- everything went good. Fence by the church is all fixed. Couple other places that will need to be looked at. T-shirts- Katie has put a sample order in for everything SO people can see them Laptop- Katie has been working on restoring everything from when the old Diane Nye-Paugh- still working on trying to move afterschool to the community just waiting on fire marshal to come down and get it approved. before ordering. crashed. in person computer building Does the town need tol have extra insurance ift the kids move down there? Diane said she has all her own insurance, and the town does have insurance on the building. Diane did let us know the fire exit ramp there are some nails that are coming out if we can get those fixed please. New Business: CN Metals- Garage door for the other side of the shop, there is a hole in the had CN: metals come down and give us a quote: $1527.00 We did big put in the door. We *Mike motion to accept the quote from CN Metal to replace the garage door on the Trick or Treat- Oakland, Grantsville, Accident, Elk Garden are all doing October what does everyone want to do. Talking about keeping the traditional *Mike motion the have trick or treat on Friday October 30th, from 6-8pm, this year for the garage doors at $1500. budget extra shop, 31, Becky 2nd, 4-0. before Halloween. 0. day as Friday Theresa, 2md,4- Toby Upton suggested that maybe ask people not to ride side by side in town during that night. Last year there were two trailer loads who came down and unloaded and went through town. Katie will put it in the newsletter suggesting not side sides. We have a deputy on duty that evening if possible. Katie will email Zach by Virts. Fall Social- a lot of people come to the fall social it is always packed in that event. We feel the building is not big enough to hold the people and the school for *Becky motion not to have fall social this year, Mike 2nd, 4-0. Stillwagons House- grass has been cut back and front. Robbie will drive down not done all the way we will then turn it over to Code Enforcement. Lacey House- There is a derby car that is still there. Jarret sent us an email that the fence has helped to keep it out of site, But he will be down to revisit updating derby car, and go from there. Robbie asked that we have him check Vets Dinner- Can Teresa Durst have their annual Veterans day dinner? will also distancing. keep the social by ifitis us things on the on update for Union St as well. *Becky motion to allow the Veteran Day Dinner to be held at the School with them following CDC and State guidelines, masks must be worn unless eating, Mike 2nd, 4-0. Renting the school building out- Robbie talked to Bob Steven at the health dept he gave us the go ahead to be able to start renting the school out ifwe want. But with that being sad we will need to make sure everyone is following guidelines, wearing masks, sanitizing, and social distancing. Only 50% of what the building can hold. Now we do have head start in here now and they are cooking in the kitchen sO the kitchen would be off limits to anyone renting it since they do all the cooking here now and tol keep it safe for the kids. The kids do walk up the ramp and into the building that way is something else to think about. Maybe investigate a fogger machine and see what that would cost. So we can check with someone at the county see what they think, check fogger prices, inspections what needs done, at risk forms, sign in and out sheet of all whose here, not using the kitchen. Sharon and Becky suggest that we wait until the first of the year to see how this year finishes out. We will revisit this subject every meeting. We will hold off on Moving the office- Katie made a statement on moving the office to the school, not only because everyone knows where the school is but it will help to show that we want to keep the school alive, more space, Katie is always there. Robbie suggested the lease can be broken at any point if we would get new commissioners in. Becky said yes it would be more convenient, but you are only a minute away. Storage Becky feels Katiel keeps the office storage of stuff good now because when Diane was there, she has stuff everywhere and still made it work. Moving decoration would be a good idea. Elder people she feels is would not be good ifthey had to stand outside in the cold and wait for someone to come answer the door. Her vote is No. Theresa voted no not much of a benefit. Sharon -No, *Becky motion to not move the office to the school building, Theresa 2nd, 4-0. renting the building out at this point. Mike- doesn'ti matter his vote now everyone said no. Mayor and Council: Robbie- Backboards new and put back up. Also has anyone notice that there has been a lot of out of state people parking and walking the floodwall or in the park? Some people have no where else to go sO they travel here to walk our floodwall. Iti is nice to see these Mike- Movie night went great for the empowerment group had about 40 people. Sharon- Dogs are getting loss down on the East Main st end. Katie talk to those people twice now and next time she will call animal control, or the residents can call animal control as well. And the church light. Yes, have called twice now its just waiting for Becky- Parking along State St to unload groceries is not the safest thing to do. There have been people parking along there for a long period of time and its hard for people to get by or people coming down through to stop. Dead trees on Oak St (Tom Ashby) winter is coming and we need to take care ofthose trees before they fall. Men's bathroom light here at the school does not work. Katie noticed it today, the guys will get it fixed. people enjoy this. Theresa- No someone to come down. *Diane noted that the garden did good this year with produce. She would take it or drive around town and ask people. Robbie asked Ifs she to the post office ifyou get messy. Yes she had someone who can get it cleaned out because it looks it all out and was supposed to but it did not work out. Robbie said just put it there on the other side of the fence the guys will haul it off. *Mike motion to adjourn the meeting at 8:22pm, Becky 2nd, 4-0. There was a yellow line there at one point but has faded away now. Robbie said we can repaint it. Not sure who is doing it but think it might be the town dumping stuff at the end oft the park, there was a pole there that looks like it could guys have come from when they fixed the fence by the church and a pipe that looks like maybe from spring st when they fixed that. Plus, there is a bunch of debris dumping there that looks like garden stuff maybe from when they picked up afterschool stuff. Itj just looks SO bad when you come into town. It right where people used to be able to walk up to the fossil bed. There was also a tree that was cut down and still had the green sign attached to its someone put in there. Robbie said he will have them remove everything. Nancy spoke up, asking about the dumpster and if that stuff that can go in there? Sharon spoke up and said some people are taking stuff down to the dumpster who are not town workers on days the gate may be open, can they do that? Robbie said not supposed to be.
