SNEADST TOWN COUNCIL REGULAR MEETING AUGUSTI 13, 2024 The Town Council of the Town of Sneads, Florida, met in a regular session at the Sneads Town Hall on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. Mike Weeks called the meeting to order with the following present: Mike Weeks, Angie Locke, Daniel Cox, Attorney Bill Rentz, Town Manager Tyler Weeks, Police Chief Sherri Griffin, City Clerk Danielle Guy, Deputy Clerk And the following were absent: Timmy Perry All stood for the Pledge of Allegiance. Tony Money, and Kay Neel and, Council Members Tony Money made a motion to approve the Consent Agenda as presented. Angie Locke seconded. All voted aye. 1. Minutes for July 2024 2. Pay Approved Bills Sherri Griffin, City Clerk, informed Council that she was transferring $100,000 from General Fund to Water & Sewer to cover grant cost and then once grants are complete, funds will be transferred back to Agenda #4, Budget Workshop/ Special Meeting date set for Thursday, August 22, 2024, at 5pm. Agenda #5, Road & Drainage Bid Project. Bids for the Road and Drainage Project were presented to the Council (See attached) After discussion, Tony Money made a motion to go with the lowest bidder and with the following streets; Church, Sherry, Ohara, Cemetery, and Joseph. Kay Neel seconded. All Agenda # 6, Melvin Engineering Updates. Hunter Potts gave updates on projects the town has going Wastewater Improvements; Design is almost complete and will be moving onto bids soon. Stormwater; Going out for bids on the Old Spanish Tr property, and in design on the rest. Dept of Ag Grant for Lighting at Ball Park- We are at a standstill, they will not let us move the poles and contractor, says lights can't go on current poles. Trying to work out details. GF. voted aye. on: HR Grant; contractor is starting on Salon. Park is in design. All voted aye. Agenda #8, Resolution #24-05 entitled; ARESOLUTION OFTHE TOWN COUNCIL OFTHE TOWN OF SNEADS AUTHORIZING THE. APALACHEE REGIONAL: PLANNING COUNCILTOAPPLY FORANDACCEPT Al BEAUTIFICATION GRANT, AND ENTER INTOA BEAUTIFICATION GRANT, LANDSCAPE CONSTRUCTION, AND MAINTENANCE MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT WITH' THE FLORIDA: DEPARTMENT OF was presented and read. Angie Locke made a motion to approve Resolution #24-05 as presented. Kay Alex Valdez and Caroline Smith were present and stated that they were also applying for a RIF Grant on behalfoft the town for a Well Head and Electrical Panel. They hope tol hear back on it soon. Agenda #9, Ordinance #2024-04. Mr Cox stated that we would table this until the September meeting. He said we would also bring the Mobile Home Ordinance back before the Council as well for final TRANSPORTATION. Neel seconded. All voted aye. reading. Agenda # 10, Sneads Recreation Board. No report Agenda #11, Town Manager Report as follows: (See attached) Agenda #12 Attorney Cox. No report Agenda #13, Police & Fire. ChiefWeeks presented the department's monthly activity report. (See attached) He stated that he had just got two fully loaded vehicles donated to the department. Kay Neel stated that we needed to set a date for the boston butt sell for the fire department. All agreed for her and Bill to get together and set up one. Agenda #14, Council Members. we: need to look at the agreement. churches involved. Angie Locke asked about the building at the Industrial Park. She stated that iti is a mess down there and Mrs Locke talked about decorating the town for the holidays. She would like to get businesses and Tony Money discussed NNO. He stated that the grass at the Park needs to be cut the day before we Mr Money said there is tree limbs hanging over the road at Gorrie/Hawley that need to be cut. Mr Money wanted to address the camera system going in on Hwy 90. He said he has been questioned whether it's going to be targeting residents. Kay Neel asked why our officers aren't covering the school zones. Chief Weeks stated that it wouldn't be targeting anyone, and that as long as they are following the law, they should be fine. As for our officers covering Hwy 90, he stated that it takes as he can do to have an event out there, that it looks bad on the town.
