SPECIAL MEETING SEPTEMBER 30, 2024 11:45 AM  Thel Lafayette County Commission met on the above date and hour for a special meeting. The meeting was held at Alton Church ofGod in Mayo, Florida. The following members were present: Commissioner Mason Byrd, Dist. 2; Commissioner Lisa Walker, Dist. 3; Commissioner Anthony Adams, Dist. 4; Commissioner Earnest Jones, Dist. 5;  and Leenette McMilan-fredriksson, County Attorney.  GOVERNOR RON DESANTIS  The Board met with Governor Ron Desantis, Kevin Guthrie (Director of the Florida Division of Emergency Management) and other representatives from FDEM to discuss  the impacts ofHurricane Helene.  RESOLUTION NUMBER 2024-09-07  On a motion by Mr. Adams and a second by Mrs. Walker, the Board voted unanimously to read Resolution 2024-09-07 by title only. On a motion by Mr. Byrd and a second by Mrs. Walker the Board voted unanimously to approve Resolution Number 2024-09-07 extending the local state ofemergency due to Hurricane Helene.
