PUBLIC COMMENTS-6:27 Jordan Hunter, Clovis Police Officers Association President, spoke in support of Measure Y. Don Watnick with Centerstage Clovis Theater invited the Council to see Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, October 5-19, 2024. Rosy Watkins, resident, addressed concerns with constant water in her gutters. Neal Steller, resident, spoke regarding the U.S. Constitution to promote civic engagement and Eric Rollins with Team America invited the Council to The Great American Freedom Revival, Dy Hin, resident, addressed concerns related toi issues to illegal sewer connection on his property. Dr. Monica Chahal, interim President for Clovis Community College, invited the Council to Applied protect liberty. October 19, 2024, at the Clovis Veterans Memorial District. Page 2 of4 Neal Steller, resident, spoke in opposition to the resolution to initiate and suggested that the Council reach out to the state to address the issue, with corrections anticipated by Jenny Krens, resident, expressed concerns about legal fees and questioned how Clovis could remain responsive and uphold the "Clovis Way ofLife" under a district-based system. Councilmember Pearce opposed Mr. Shankman's assertion that the City of Clovis lacks Latino representation and argued that the lawsuit is forcing the city to adopt district-based elections and disregards Clovis' inclusive history, and puts the city in a difficult financial Counci/member Bessinger emphasized the benefit of Clovis' at-large election system, where residents have access to all five councimembers rather than just one, ensuring that all parts of the city are represented. However, he acknowledged the legal and financial realities, and expressed frustration that the city cannot afford to fight a losing battle in court Councilmember Basgall stressed the responsibility of current and future elected officials to continue representing all residents of Clovis and pledge to uphold the "Clovis way of life," ensuring the city remains successful and united, regardless of district boundaries. The short answer is that you own a corner lot, your lot is slightly larger than your Front Footage Fee: You are required by the Clovis Municipal Code 6.4.03 to pay a front footage sewer charge for your street frontage. Since the School district installed the sewer in DeWolf and provided separate funding for the installation, you and your neighbor are not required to pay a front footage fee for DeWolf. You however are required to pay front footage on Swift Avenue because you also front on it and it was installed by a developer. The front footage cost is approximately $9,000 of Oversize Sewer Fee: The size of your lot is slightly larger than your neighbors, sO you fee is slightly Increase in Fees: The additional difference is because since the date that your neighbor paid their The fee estimate given to you has been calculated per code and staff cannot find a reason that would be supported to lower the fees for your property connecting sewer service to the City system.
