OLD BUSINESS Logo Review Chairperson Lacey Robinson will give feedback from logo suggestions to Public Information Officer/Special Projects Coordinator, Greta Meadows. No information on t-shirts as the logo has to be decided first. T-Shirts Student Available Seat on Committee Greta Meadows will be asked to post position on Facebook to request a college student need. Veronica Campos-Hallstrom will contact Craven Community College, New Bern, Art Instructors. Tanya McGhee will reach out to the Early College contacts. Seasonal event collaboration with the Concert in the City Park Series to be continued Community Drum Circle next year because of interest and small success. Community Art Box Discussions on topics: locked box, featured student artists from Havelock Schools. Location suggestions: City Park (near sculpture), Walter B. Jones Park, Parks and Recreation, City Library. Where to purchase Art Box: Amazon, Shop Class in New Bern, High School Wood Shop. Features: Conduct Artist Competition with awards to Art Box participants in categories like "Mayor's Award". Concerns: What materials are needed and how will someone place, replace/stock art. No progress, perhaps the end of the year. Community Classes Community Mural On September 25, 2024, Jonathan Burger, Executive Director of Craven Arts Council & Gallery came to Havelock to look at the condition of the walls at the Senior Center and the bathroom structure in the City Park. The purpose of the trip was to evaluate two sites we wish to give a proposal on. Specific questions also came up and were noted by Mrs. Campos-Halstrom. Jonathan advised that the project be considered in the Spring of 2025 (April or May). NEW BUSINESS Mural Painting content.
