Borough of Sykesville Special Council Meeting October 28, 2024 A special meeting of the Sykesville Borough Council was called to order at 7:00 P.M. by President Michele Yamrick. In attendance were Michele Yamrick, President; Elaine Fike, Vice President; Nate Alvetro, President ProTem; Council Members Sherry Pruzinsky, Don Reid, and Gabriel "Butch" Sweka. Absent were Councilman Ron Morris, Mayor Gail Cunningham, and Solicitor Nicholas Visitors: Brian Williams and OIC Earl Campbell. (No visitor concerns) Gianvito. President Michele Yamrick informed that at the last Borough Council Meeting, a motion was made to increase the employee health coverage contribution from 15% to 20% due to an 11.1% increase in the plan. However, due to Earl Campbell's contract, his rate would remain the same until the end of contract (December 31, 2025) making it unfair to increase the other employees' contribution. Amotion was made by Vice President Elaine Fike and seconded by Councilman Butch Sweka to rescind the motion that was approved and carried on October 21,2024, to increase the Borough employee's ( contribution to the health A motion was made by Counciwoman Sherry Pruzinsky and seconded by President ProTem Nate Alvetro to maintain the Borough employee's contribution Councilman Sweka raised questions on if an employee wanted to "opt" of the Borough'si insurance, would the Borough consider paying said employee. President Yamrick stated that nothing is in the handbook regarding this currently insurance from 15% to 20%. Motion carried. for health insurance at 15%. Motion carried. but could be considered in the future. ADJOURNMENT: Motion to adjourn was made by Vice President Elaine Fike and seconded by Councilman Butch Sweka. Motion carried.
