Citizens Advisory Board Chair, Hank Haynes, called the meeting to order b. Autumn Chatham, Jessica Tardonia, Shawn Boyd, Hank Haynes, Jason :. Tim Towe, Ahmad Kamra, Haley Sparks, Amy Bell, Jared Ray, Alan Ours and Rebecca Mincey were also in attendance as county staff. a. Hank Haynes gave an invocation to begin the meeting. at 6:01pm on October 9, 2024 Davis were present. 2. Invocation 3. Recognize Citizens or Guests a. No guests present. 4. Approval of Minutes a. Amotion was made to approve the previous minutes by Shawn Boyd and seconded by Autumn Chatham. i. Passed unanimously 5. Old/Ongoing Business a. Turf Grant Update Tim reported that the Board of Commission approved to bid out i. Tim reported that renovations for fields 5, and 7-10 will be completed by Spring 2025 and they will start in November. i. Tim reported that the football season has went very well overall, games were pushed back because of hurricane Helene. ii. Parks and Rec hosted 2 Saturdays in September. iii. Girl's Flag football won their championship. the turf. b. Field Renovation Update S obalChereadipois Flag Football iv. Sideline cheer practices have stopped and they have started to i. Parks and Rec will begin working with foster care to pay a percentage of their fees for athletic programs. practice for the cheer bowl. d. Scholarships ii. A new income-Dased scholarship chart will be finalized by the November gth meeting. e. Background Checks Al background check policy will be finalized by the November 9th meeting. 6. New Business a. Basketball I. Basketball registration is currently at 351. Tim reported the Park and Rec will have 47-50 teams this season. il. Opening day for the season has been pushed back due to Football being pushed back. iii. Drafts will be taking place soon. October 15th will be eight U drafts, the 16th will be ten U drafts, and the 17th will be twelve U iv. Seventy little hoopers, fourty eightU girls, seventy eightu boys, seventeen twelveU girls, fifty tenU boys, forty four twelveU boys, drafts. fifteen fourteenU boys, forty four tenU girls 7.
