MINUTES OF BUDGET MEETING: AUGUST 13, 2024  1. Call to order: Mayor Pratka called the meeting to order at 5:301 PM. Matt Miller, Joe Pustejovsky, and Chris Nors were present.  2. Roll Call: present council members - Mayor David Pratka, Cody Harris, Natalie Kelinske, 3. Review of proposed 2024-2025 fiscal year budget. Council would like to wait to propose the property tax rate for next fiscal year until we can meet next week and discuss in more detail. Council asked to include a proposed increase in Shawn Holden's salary by $5,000 for the next budget meeting. Chief White is asking for $72,000 in extra expenses over the normal operating expenses that are to occur. Chiefwill be present at the budget meeting next Tuesday at 5:30 pm to go over his budget and any questions that council may have. Josh Tetens will arrive at 6:15 pm to speak about the Disaster Response Program and the rules/regulations that go along with the procurement oft the items as well as the sources off funding for this program. Joe Pustejovsky would like to see roadwork added to next years budget and mentioned the mill and overlay for Pine Street. He would like to obtain the numbers from Walker Partners and try to implement it in next years budget ifour funds allow. The council would like to review the QIPP program and have West Rest Haven present to discuss at a future meeting. The city is currently paying all expenses and IGT payments for this program and would like to renegotiate the 70/30 split with the nursing home.  4. Council adjourned at 7:02 PM.
