Minutes Keep Simonton Beautiful Commission - Annual Meeting CITY OF SIMONTON September 9, 2024 This is a true and correct copy of the Minutes of the Keep Simonton Beautiful Commission Annual Meeting held on September 9, 2024. 1. Call to Order Commission Member/Council Member! Kelli Matula called the meeting to order at 6:30p.m. Items listed under the Consent Agenda are consideredi routine and are generally enacted in one motion. The exception to this rule occurs when a Commission Member requests one or more items removedj from the Consent Agenda, for separate discussion and action. Motion by Commission Member/Council Member Kelli Matula to approve the August 5, 2024 meeting minutes. Commission Member Karen Long seconded the motion. 2. Consider and take action on the Consent Agenda a. Draft. August 5, 2024 Meeting Minutes. Ayes: Four. Noes: None. Commission Member Sarah Jordan was absent. Motion approved unanimously. 3. Election ofOfficers An open vote/discussion was held to elect Commission officers as follows: Kelli Matula - President Angela King - Vice President Karen Long- Treasurer Sheri Buck - Secretary. Motion by Commission Member/Counci Member Kelli Matula to approve the election ofsaid officers. Commission Member Karen Long seconded the motion. Ayes: Four. Noes: None. Commission Member Sarah Jordan was absent. Motion approved unanimously. b. Fall Community Project Commission Member/Counci Member Kelli Matula stated that the project is open to all Simonton residents, not only to those residents residing in Valley Lodge. She stated that CIA Services (POA) will send an email announcement of the project to all Valley Lodge residents. The Commission decided that it will focus on clean-up for the fall project and planting as the spring project. Commission Member Karen Long stated that a litter audit andinventory will be required per Keep' Texas Beautiful. A discussion ensued regarding the application process and that the search for volunteers should be aj joint effort with thel POA. CIA services will be donating gas for chainsaws and other equipment, as well as providing lunch and possibly breakfast. The City of Simonton, ori in the alternative HEB, will provide Commission Member/Council Member Kelli Matula will draft a flyer regarding the project tol be disseminated this week (the week of September 9, 2024). Home Tour The Commission discussed the need for volunteer homeowners to participate in Home Tour. City Secretary Nanci Mohr read the list of possible volunteers from the August 5, 2024 Regular Meeting notes. Commission Member Angela King suggested adding Community Member Abbie Ferguson to the list ofl homeowners to contact. Commission Member/Council Member Kelli Matula stated that Susan La Dart is a confirmed homeowner; Commission Member Sheri Buck is to contact all oft the volunteers to confirm Commission Member Karen Long stated that al list ofhome sites will not be: released to the public, and that there will be a map oft the home sites printed on the purchased ticket.
