Budget Workshop and Regular Meeting Minutes June 16, 2022 7:00 p.m. 1. Call to order and announce quorum is present. Mayor Cardwell called the meeting to order at 7:02 pm, and announced a quorum was present. Those in attendance were: Mayor Crystal Cardwell, Mayor Pro Tem Christopher Raines, Councilmember Taylor Burton, Councilmember Jennifer Hill, City Admin Staff Brittany Mayhue, City Admin: Staff Alexis Loya, Public Works Director William Allen, and City Secretary. Jenni Moore. Mayor Cardwell led the pledge to the flag; Councilmember Burton delivered the invocation. 2. 3. Pledge of allegiance and invocation. Mayor Update. Mayor Cardwell thanked the Heart for Park Committee for the great job on movie in the park, along with the City of Boyd. The event was well received with approximately 88 in attendance. Laura Pixler asked if the Council had any questions regarding the movie in the park event. Ms. Pixler mentioned City Employee Colton Richards for such a great job, he was very helpful. Everything went well with the exception of mosquitoes. She stated she would like to hold off on the. Julye event and instead havei iti in October to coincide with Cruisin Days. Ms. Pixler thanked the Budget Workshop = discussion on all funds for Fiscal Year 2022-2023 Annual Budget. Mayor Cardwell: stated we willl be posting the future meeting dates online. Councilmember Burton Discuss, consider and act on Resolution No. 358, a resolution designating persons authorized to City Secretary Moore stated this Resolution was needed to add Mayor Cardwell to the account and remove the previous Mayor. Discuss and consider zoning changes within Newark cityl limits. Councilmember Raines: started the conversation: stating the Rolling VI Development may shift into Newark sooner than expected. He would like to steer to commercial zoning to help lessen the strain ont the residents by building sales tax dollars. Raines stated he wanted toi inform the Council oft these plans.
